Title: Marketing and Communications Manager

Department: Marketing and Community Relations

Reports To: Director, Marketing and Community Relations

The Marketing and Communications Manager is responsible for overseeing all internal and external communications, utilizing multiple communication channels for the health center and all departments within. This professional will ensure all messaging is consistent and engaging. This professional will lead the creation and execution of communication strategies for the organization under the leadership of the Department Director. The Marketing and Communications Manager will create compelling marketing and advertising content / copy and provide guidance to the team regarding messaging, branding, and positioning.

This person will lead the department in content creation, in the development and modification of marketing and advertising materials through a variety of means, including print and digital design, newsletters, stories, brochures, and other print materials among other promotional items. They will manage media relations, press releases / conferences and the building and management of media relationships. The Marketing and Communications Manager will work collaboratively on the website development team, assuming the primary contact position as we evolve, and will represent CSHHC at community events.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
  • Function as the main point of contact for all department directors/managers in the execution of marketing campaigns. Develop and maintain media relationships.
  • Develop customer-focused messaging and positioning strategies.
  • Develop the communications strategy for CSHHC and work with the team to develop an annual campaign calendar for all promotions.
  • Support the health center's website development and search engine optimization (SEO) goals.
  • Under the direction of the department director, coordinate media relations, internal, external communications, press releases and interviews. Produce schedule & track all activity.
  • Develop, execute, measure and optimize integrated marketing communications plans and tactics to effectively promote services and programs through marketing and advertising campaigns.
  • Develop and implement public relations and promotional campaigns that enhance the organization's brand and its presence among target audiences.
  • Research and coordinate the written copy for website, articles, press releases, annual reports, electronic newsletters, success stories, fact sheets, brochures, presentations, proposals and other informational or promotional efforts.
  • Lead internal communications campaign with focus on increasing viewership of employee and community newsletters and the usage of the CSHHC website.
  • Lead communications projects (primarily provider mailings, mass emails and regular updating of community contact lists)
  • Ensure appropriate document design and readability of communications materials.
  • Proofread and approve content supplied by internal marketing department staff and other departments.
  • Proficient use of project management software to support tracking and reporting to department director.
  • Manage, strengthen, and develop relationships with personnel and staff.
  • Direct and work with in-house and consultant designers, writers, and other industry professionals
  • Ensure compliance and provide direction on appropriate organizational name usage and brand application.
  • Work with the Business Intelligence department to establish media campaign success metrics/measurement and learning plans and work with consultants / agencies and others to evaluate campaigns accordingly.
  • Provide direction and ongoing support to the marketing team as projects or challenges occur.
  • Produce content or graphics to showcase programs and services available to our clientele and educational information, inclusive of social media, the website, digital marketing, and multimedia advertising
  • To ensure consistency of brand and messaging, actively participate in the health center's social media content creation and serve as backup in managing accounts with the goal of increasing usage and engagement in online channels
  • Engage in special projects and promotions to support CSHHC's mission
  • Assist in the creative process of updating and maintaining internal marketing displays and the creation of collateral.
Outreach and Community Relations:
  • Assists the Department Director and staff representing the company within the community to create awareness of Health Center services and programs while providing support to the communities we serve with a goal to increase utilization of services and provide health/wellness education
  • Participates in community outreach events.
  • Supports teambuilding activities; work cohesively with co-workers.
  • Performs other related duties assigned by the Director.
Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field.

Experience: Minimum of 5 years' management experience required. Knowledge of healthcare is a plus.

Knowledge/Abilities:
  • Knowledge of project management practices with tight deadlines. Ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Working knowledge of communications principles and strategies, project management, and graphic / digital design or digital marketing skills mandatory.
  • Excellent, effective communication techniques and marketing skills.
  • Excellent writing skills and the ability to create content for written and digital environments, deliver and execute effective project plans, and achieve positive outcomes required.
  • Strong working knowledge of social marketing and networking required.
  • Experience in relationship building, community and government relations essential.
  • Knowledge of grants and proposals, development and fundraising preferred.
  • APA writing style, website analytic tool and CEO experience required.
  • Microsoft Office and web content management systems experience required
  • Community Outreach is a critical component of the position. This person will serve as the back-up to the Community Outreach Manager and work collaboratively with the Marketing and Community Relations Project Manager regularly
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule. Evenings and weekends will be required.
