Job Summary
The Marketing Communications (MarCom) Associate will play a key role in assisting with developing and executing marketing tactics that drive brand awareness, customer engagement, sales and lead generation. This role requires a blend of traditional marketing communications (e.g. print media, event planning, PR) and digital expertise (e.g. social media, email/social campaigns, content marketing, etc.). The MarCom Associate works closely with vendors to meet deadlines and budgets. This position directly reports to the Marketing Communications Manager.
Duties and Responsibilities-Marketing Communications & Branding (Downstream)
• Assist the Chief Marketing Officer and Marketing Communications Manager (The Marketing Team) in developing marketing materials to support product launches, sales activities, corporate development initiatives and brand awareness
• Collaborate with The Marketing Team to create and manage marketing assets, including promotional collateral, tradeshow assets, digital media, video, and audio content
• Liaise with Clinical and Regulatory to ensure sales and product training materials for Sales team, end users, and independent distributors are accurate and compliant
• Work with The Marketing Team to maintain and update social media and website content
• Track and analyze digital performance metrics (social media listening software) to optimize campaigns and improve ROI
• Assist Marketing Communications Manager in the planning and execution of trade shows, corporate events, and webinars
• Assist Marketing Communications Manager with lead retrieval and tracking at tradeshows and customer related events
• Assist with pre and post-event communications to maximize engagement and follow-up opportunities
• Ensure compliance and brand consistency across all marketing materials and communication channels
• Support the development and execution of a comprehensive communication and public relations strategy that drives brand awareness for all market segments
• Monitor industry trends and competitor activities to identify PR opportunities
• Assist with fulfilling ad hoc marketing requests from internal teams
Duties and Responsibilities - Quality (System)
• Training as required per Alafair Quality System
Education and Experience
• Bachelor's degree in marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field
• 2-3 years of experience in marketing communications, preferably in the medical device, healthcare, or life sciences industries
• Detail-oriented, self-starter, with a sense of urgency
• Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills with the ability to translate complex medical concepts into engaging content
• Ability to effectively communicate with upper management
• Experience with social media management and listening (e.g. Hootsuite, Talkwalker, etc.), digital marketing tools, and email platforms (e.g. HubSpot, Mailchimp, Survey Monkey, etc.)
• Proficiency in project management platforms (Google Platform, Asana, Trello, etc.) and design software (Adobe suite, Canva, etc.) is a plus
• Experience with AI platforms (e.g. ChatGPT, Claude, etc.) preferred
• Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Other Requirements
• Must be able to occasionally lift and move packages weighing up to 40 pounds
• Requires the ability to set up event properties and displays, which may include assembling stands, arranging furniture, and organizing materials
• Ability to support coordination and physical handling of materials for shipment and distribution to various locations
• The role may require standing for extended periods during events and activities
• Must be available to travel for tradeshows and corporate events (10-15%)
