Position Overview:

Materials Testing Consultants is looking to add a new team member to the business development and marketing team. The ideal candidate will have strong communication and computer skills and provide a positive first impression, showing clients we provide peace of mind right from the start.


Key Responsibilities:

Proposal & Document Support

  • Assist in the setup and drafting of proposals across all departments
  • Create and maintain proposal templates and project documentation as needed
  • Coordinate tracking and follow-up of proposals
  • Work closely with technical staff to gather project-specific data and descriptions
  • Draft or edit project descriptions and resumes as needed

Administrative & Technical Support

  • Set up and manage projects and proposals in internal software systems
  • Organize and maintain electronic marketing and proposal files
  • Update and check for accuracy in the CRM platform to support all teams
  • Prepare documents for internal review, approval, and signature
  • Ensure a high level of accuracy, quality control, and attention to detail across all deliverables
  • Prioritize and manage multiple deadlines and assignments with minimal supervision

Content Development & Marketing

  • Assist in the creation of social media content and posts
  • Draft technical blogs, project highlights, and other content for digital marketing
  • Conduct staff interviews to collect relevant technical and project information
  • Obtain and organize photos from field staff for use in marketing materials
  • Collaborate with Business Development and technical teams to ensure messaging accuracy

Collaboration & Communication

  • Work collaboratively across departments to support marketing and business development goals
  • Communicate professionally and courteously with internal staff and external clients
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall success of the team

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Associate degree or college course in Marketing or Advertising; Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Minimum one year work experience as a marketing assistant
  • Background in construction and/or engineering field helpful
  • Familiarity with reading construction plans and specifications
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills with experience preparing external communications and final reports
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with excellent organization, prioritization, and follow-through abilities
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new software platforms and tools
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat; experience with CRM platforms, project management tools, and databases is a plus
  • Proactive, resourceful, and able to handle general inquiries independently
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple deadlines and maintain attention to detail while handling sensitive information with discretion
  • Comfortable working with all levels of staff and leadership in a professional and respectful manner
  • Friendly, team-oriented demeanor with a positive attitude and willingness to support others
  • Collaborative mindset with a focus on efficiency and communication when managing shared workloads
