Position Overview:
A market-leading, innovation-driven company is seeking a Senior Counsel to support its Marketing and IT functions. This high-visibility position will report to the VP & Associate General Counsel and regularly engage with senior executives on legal matters tied to strategic growth initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide legal guidance on data privacy, cybersecurity, consumer protection, and marketing law
- Support product teams throughout the lifecycle-from ideation to end-of-life-for both new and existing digital products.
- Advise on U.S. and global privacy laws, including GDPR, U.S. state privacy laws, TCPA, CAN-SPAM, and FTC regulations.
- Lead legal investigations and responses related to cybersecurity incidents
- Review marketing materials, offers, disclaimers, and advise on terms, promotions, sweepstakes, and campaign compliance.
- Support IT and marketing-related contract negotiations, including SaaS and licensing agreements.
- Deliver legal training and contribute to compliance programs and policy development
- Collaborate cross-functionally and potentially manage direct reports.
Qualifications:
- JD from an accredited institution; active U.S. bar license.
- Minimum of 8 years' experience in a law firm, in-house, or government, with a strong focus on privacy and tech law
- Excellent communication, analytical, and project management skills.
- CIPP certification and experience in IP, advertising law, or cybersecurity preferred.
