Description
Saint Joseph Catholic School seeks a dynamic and creative Marketing and Communications Specialist to work part-time, August through June. The Marketing and Communications Specialist is responsible for managing Saint Joseph Catholic School's internal and external communication efforts to build relationships and promote a positive brand image. This involves creating and implementing communication strategies, managing media relations, crafting content for various channels, and overseeing social media presence. In addition, responsibilities also include assisting with event planning and enrollment management.
Requirements
Essential Duties: - Develop and implement comprehensive communication strategies to promote Saint Joseph Catholic School and enhance brand awareness. This includes creating and distributing promotional materials across various channels, such as print, digital, and social media.
- Collaborate closely with the principal and development director to plan and coordinate projects and special events, including the annual SPIRIT Gala Grandparents Day, Volunteer Appreciation Week, Grad Walk, and other events as they arise.
- Work in partnership with faculty, staff, and the Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO) on special projects such as school spirit nights, Cougar Dash, PTO pizza lunches, and Operation Soup Bowl to ensure that consistent messaging is effectively communicated.
- Graphic Design: Create logos for development initiatives and special events, as well as brochures, advertisements, posters, registration materials, bulletin ads, announcements, the yearly school directory, spring and Christmas music programs, graduation programs, diplomas, and other marketing and promotional items.
- Copywriting: Serve as the editor of the weekly newsletter and produce advertising copy, social media content, press releases, brochures, direct mail campaigns, development materials, flyers, e-blasts, text messages, and other promotional materials.
- Distribute e-marketing communications and promotional materials to publicize Saint Joseph Catholic School.
- Maintain event calendars.
- Serve as the school photographer, capturing major events throughout the year to support promotional content and storytelling.
- Conduct school tours for recruitment and enrollment purposes, and work closely with the principal and school registrar on enrollment management.
- Maintain a strong focus on customer service and building rapport with the school community.
- Sell advertisements for the school directory and website sponsorships, generate invoices, and track and collect fees.
- Establish and nurture positive relationships with media contacts, the Fort Collins Chamber of Commerce, and the school community.
- Collaborate with local parishes to uphold and strengthen the Catholic identity of the school.
- Maintain and manage the Flocknote database.
- Coordinate volunteers as needed.
- Attend meetings and special events as required.
- Serve as a backup front office assistant, providing a wide range of services for students, parents, faculty, and staff, including administering first aid and prescription medication to students.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Educational Requirements: BA/BS in communications, marketing, public relations, or a related field.
Experience in communications or marketing, including website, social media, and community outreach, preferably in a Catholic school setting.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: - Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Proficient in graphic design and production management.
- Strong creative thinking, artistic vision, and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience in content creation and managing marketing campaigns.
- Ability to work effectively within a team as well as independently.
- Strong customer service skills are essential, with a preference for enjoying collaboration in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven ability to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple creative projects simultaneously.
- Proficient in digital marketing tools and platforms, including Google, Facebook, Instagram, and X.
- Experience with WordPress, Canva, Photoshop, Adobe Creative Suites, and Microsoft Office products is required.
- Knowledge of SEO and web analytics is beneficial.
- Understanding of enrollment management, marketing principles, and best practices.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and foster positive working relationships with administrators, faculty, staff, parents, students, school and community organizations, vendors, and the general public.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Must be self-motivated and driven.
Salary Description
$18 - $22/hour
