Description
Manage the operational activities of the Market Placement Team. Support new in career commercial lines sales associates. Actively market new prospective client accounts to carrier partners. Provide marketing analytics, negotiate carrier coverages, and finalize marketing and client onboarding process. Individual will be located in Atlanta, with limited travel requirements.
Position Requirements
• Accountable for management, and development of assigned team. Includes monitoring staffing and workload, training, coaching, and performance management.
• Produce and monitor various monthly reports to ensure all new business has been addressed in a timely manner. Includes post-binding activities, team members open items, workloads, and backlog.
• Provide technical expertise for new in career producer in coordinating the service of new clients. Includes sales, account development, and problem solving.
• Occasional outside visits to prospects as needed.
• Work closely with sales associates to understand prospect's commercial lines insurance needs.
• Develop submissions to carriers and obtain quotes. Respond to underwriters' inquiries.
• Negotiate terms with carriers on prospect's behalf.
• Finalize the marketing process and prepare appropriate proposal presentations.
• Bind coverage for clients and execute client onboarding process.
• Develop knowledge of insurance markets on behalf of SSP.
• Develop relationships with carrier underwriters and representatives.
• Serve as technical expert on market trends, pricing practices, and other underwriting policies.
• Maintain a high degree of accuracy in agency management system.
• Keep current with industry, new product information, legislation, coverages, and technology.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• 7 years + experience in commercial property & casualty insurance agency. Comprehensive understanding of all property & casualty insurance coverages, underwriting, and rating concepts.
• College degree preferred.
• Prior managerial experience preferred, but not required. Ability to manage others effectively.
• Must hold state Property & Casualty insurance license.
• Industry designations such as ARM, CIC, and CPCU preferred.
• Ability to carry out complex tasks with many concrete and abstract variables.
• Working knowledge of internet-based programs and Microsoft Office products.
• Knowledge of EPIC, but not required.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment with minimal instruction.
• Exceptional time management skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
• Maintain relationships with clients, co-workers, carriers, vendors, and other business contacts.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
