Marine Engineer Job Category: Engineering Time Type: Full time Minimum Clearance Required to Start: Employee Type: Regular Percentage of Travel Required: Type of Travel: The Opportunity: CACI is looking for an engineer who has a minimum of seven years' experience in support of the Navy, MSC, USCG or similar designs and can apply theories and principles of science, mathematics, and standards such as MIL-STD-810 to provide solutions for shock and vibration technical problems. You will be responsible to develop design products which include, but not limited to, auxiliary systems, machinery tradeoff studies, shock, environmental analysis, and implementation of best practices and process improvements. You will also improve the performance of shipboard system by utilizing advances in technology and analyze the impact of the products they develop or the systems they design on the environment and on the people using them. You will support shipyard testing, production, quality assurance and life cycle deliverables and analyses of root cause failures and the factory accepting tests of manufactured products. Responsibilities: Development of marine auxiliary and piping systems, review and analyzing preliminary and functional design documentation and development of ship system specifications.
Review and analysis of mechanical and electrical propulsion systems, and auxiliary/ piping systems for technical data packages developed to support design and construction of Navy and commercial vessels.
Provide engineering services support to including Spec writing, design, mechanical calculations, outfitting design ,marine drawing, selected record drawing (SRD) updates, ship checks and other technical work document preparation in accordance with drawing standards and good marine design practice.
Writes shock and environmental test procedures, compiles and evaluates design and test data and prepares technical specifications.
Responsible for researching, planning, designing, developing, modifying, and evaluating auxiliary systems, mechanical and electro-mechanical components, controls, engines, machines and mechanical or thermal hydraulic systems.
Develop and oversee deliverables, QA, and risk assessment for Navy Vessels
Self-Starter, multi -task capability, technically savvy, interpersonal skills, team player and ability to market our CACI team capabilities.
Explicit Knowledge of commercial standards (e.g., NVR, SOLAS, ASTM, ANSI, and NFPA). Qualifications: Required: Seven years of experience in US Naval Ship Engineering Capacity.
BS Degree in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical
Engineering, System Safety or related degree
US Citizen with Secret Clearance
