Position Overview:
We are seeking experienced and driven Manufacturing/Supplier Quality Engineers to support strategic supplier development, ensure quality excellence, and drive process improvements in a high-performance semiconductor manufacturing environment. This role requires hands-on technical skills, deep understanding of manufacturing processes, and the ability to influence supplier performance for next-generation products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead supplier performance improvement initiatives to reduce quality defects and enhance manufacturing capability.
- Implement and improve SPC (Statistical Process Control) to ensure process stability and quality compliance.
- Conduct onsite supplier audits including part-to-print verification, QMS evaluations, and root cause analysis for non-conformities.
- Provide DFM (Design for Manufacturability) feedback during New Product Introductions (NPI) to improve production efficiency.
- Participate in technical sourcing decisions, assessing supplier capabilities and alignment with product requirements.
- Guide suppliers in applying quality methodologies such as 8D, PFMEA, Change Management, and Best Known Methods (BKMs).
- Deliver executive-level presentations on supplier performance, escalations, and improvement roadmaps.
- Ensure compliance with factory-level processes including 5S, material control, tool management, and metrology.
Preferred Qualifications:
Electrical Engineer Role (San Jose/Reno):
- Hands-on experience with electrical assemblies, cables, harnesses, PCBs, and test fixtures.
- Knowledge of finishing processes - plating, coating, painting, etc.
- Strong understanding of electrical manufacturing quality standards.
Machining & Contract Manufacturing Engineer Roles (Phoenix/Santa Clara):
- Practical experience with metal/plastic machining, welding, and contract manufacturing.
- Deep knowledge of machining process development, qualification, and optimization.
- Familiarity with Value Stream Mapping, shop floor operations, and quality improvement frameworks.
General Requirements for All Roles:
- Proven track record in semiconductor or equipment manufacturing environments.
- Proficiency in GD&T, engineering drawing interpretation, and 3D modeling tools.
- Strong experience with PFMEA, QMS, and measurement systems.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
- Strong team player with project/program management capability.
- Willingness to travel to supplier sites and between job locations as required.
