POSITION SUMMARY:
The Manufacturing Project Manager (MPM) is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing manufacturing projects from inception to completion. The role focuses on delivering high-quality results within defined timelines and budgets while ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. The MPM collaborates with cross-functional teams to optimize resources, mitigate risks, and drive continuous improvement in manufacturing processes.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Project Planning and Management:
- Develop detailed project plans, including scope, timelines, resource allocation, and budgets.
- Define clear project objectives, deliverables, and performance metrics.
- Monitor project progress and adjust plans as needed to achieve goals.
Team Leadership and Collaboration:
- Lead cross-functional project teams, including engineers, technicians, and supply chain professionals.
- Foster a collaborative environment to ensure effective communication and alignment among stakeholders.
- Resolve conflicts and provide guidance to team members.
Risk Management:
- Identify potential risks and implement mitigation strategies.
- Monitor and address issues that could impact project success, such as supply chain disruptions or equipment failures.
Quality Assurance and Compliance:
- Ensure projects meet quality standards, industry regulations, and safety requirements.
- Work closely with quality control teams to address defects and implement corrective actions.
Process Improvement:
- Analyze current manufacturing processes and identify opportunities for optimization.
- Implement lean manufacturing principles and other efficiency-enhancing methodologies.
Stakeholder Communication:
- Provide regular updates to stakeholders, including project status reports, milestones, and financial summaries.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for client and internal communications regarding project progress.
Budget Management:
- Track project expenses and ensure adherence to the approved budget.
- Proactively address cost overruns and recommend cost-saving measures.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
Certifications:
- Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred.
- Additional certifications in Lean Six Sigma, Agile, or related fields are a plus.
Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in manufacturing project management or a similar role.
- Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale manufacturing projects.
Skills:
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment, and supply chain management.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Proficient in project management software (e.g., Smart Sheets).
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
