Job Summary: The Manufacturing Production Supervisor is responsible for supervising assigned manufacturing production activities, including production output, quality, safety, materials, department goals, and coaching and developing the hourly workforce.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead, coach, and motivate a team to achieve plant goals.
- Develop and ensure a positive working relationship with hourly production team members. This includes building strong, interactive teams; fostering employee engagement; mentoring through listening, coaching and performance reviews; training and onboarding.
- Manage daily production and schedule requirements for assigned department(s) and ensure a consistent flow of work through the department(s). Adjust available resources and respond to shortfalls or imbalances.
- Ensure safe working conditions and safe work habits for area team members through the identification and correction of any safety concerns/issues, safety training, conducting safety audits of the area, modeling and reinforcing positive safety behaviors, and conducting first aid/near miss/accident investigations to determine root cause and resolution.
- Ensure assigned department(s) achieves quality goals to deliver on our client's Brand Promise. Review quality standards and processes regularly and make recommendations on corrections or improvements.
- Support plant leadership with recommendations for improving production methods, equipment, operating procedures, quality standards, production efficiencies, and safety/working conditions.
- Partner with the plant maintenance department to ensure production areas are functioning at a high level and to minimize downtime.
- Work with plant support operations, such as Materials, Scheduling, and Logistics, to ensure a balanced schedule and a consistent flow of material into assigned production area.
- Determine appropriate staffing needs of the department, manage hourly attendance policy, and ensure accuracy of time keeping and attendance system.
- Make recommendations and support plant leadership in hiring, disciplinary, promotion, and termination decisions. Resolve employee issues as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree preferred or considerable manufacturing experience (minimum five years)
- 2+ years of leadership experience with a demonstrated track record of achieving results and developing subordinates
- Excellent problem-analysis and critical thinking abilities
- Experience working within teams and a demonstrated commitment to Customer Service
- Outstanding reliability, with strong planning and organizational skills
- Ability to drive improvements within the organization and coach/develop others to achieve goals
- Demonstrated proficiency in managing multiple tasks, setting priorities, decision-making, adapting, and meeting deadlines
- Outstanding communication, collaboration and conflict management skills
- Ability to travel to other plants and locations, as needed
Compensation: $75,000-$85,000
