The Manufacturing Manager oversees production operations, ensuring that volume, cost, and quality targets are met while maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. This role involves supervising employees, optimizing workflows, managing resources, and driving continuous improvement in alignment with company goals.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage manufacturing teams to ensure daily production schedules and output are met.
- Act as the primary point of contact for day-to-day manufacturing operations.
- Monitor production performance, making adjustments to operator schedules as needed.
- Implement and maintain SQDIP (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, Productivity) goals.
- Manage employee scheduling, time-off requisitions, and personnel actions.
- Oversee job training processes to ensure employees are cross-trained and competent in multiple tasks.
- Support employee performance management, including disciplinary actions as necessary.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and security protocols.
- Oversee ISO quality and environmental system certifications.
- Drive quality initiatives by identifying root causes of issues and implementing corrective actions.
- Respond to customer inquiries and complaints to maintain business relationships.
- Develop and maintain a supplier quality assurance program in conjunction with Supply Chain.
- Conduct waste elimination projects across all value streams.
- Lead and report out at daily production meetings.
- Ensure the implementation of the Kata process using the Greenfield Approach.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a related technical field.
- 5-10 years of manufacturing experience (cutting tool industry a plus).
- 3+ years of supervisory experience preferred but not required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft D365 and Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Strong understanding of safety, medical & emergency response plans, environmental compliance, and security protocols.
- Experience overseeing quality management systems and ISO certifications.
