JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Successful candidate will operate a production intent research cell to produce production casting samples.
  • Evaluations on DOE to determine applicable process criteria (temperature, RPM, mold materials, extraction times, coatings).
  • Development of manufacturing process to enable centrifugal casting
  • This role is a mix between R&D and execution of the associated DOEs
  • Study time, motion, methods, and speed involved in maintenance, production, and other operations to establish standard production rate and improve efficiency.
  • Read worker logs, product processing sheets, and specification sheets, to verify that records adhere to quality assurance specifications.
  • Aid in planning work assignments in accordance with worker performance, machine capacity, production schedules, and anticipated delays.
  • Prepare charts, graphs, and diagrams to illustrate workflow, routing, floor layouts, material handling, and machine utilization.
  • Operate a production intent research cell to produce production casting samples.
  • Prepare/ Startup equipment for the day.
  • Document results from prior day experiments and findings.
  • Execute the daily DOE task.
  • Hand off to counterpart on trailing shift.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Associate's degree in engineering or related field with 4+ years' experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field with 2-4 years' experience.
  • Master's degrees will be overqualified.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Ability to make sketches, engineering drawings and common computations.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawing, schematics and computer-generated reports.
  • Manufacturing Safety experience.
  • GD&T experience.
  • Enjoys hands on work experience.

DESIRED SKILLS:

  • Familiarity with Foundry processes experience.
  • Microsoft Office experience.

SOFT SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Creativity, verbal and written communication skills, analytical and problem-solving ability.
  • Team player and detail oriented.
  • Self-Starter.
