Akkodis is seeking a results-driven Manufacturing Engineer to join our team and support the design, development, and optimization of manufacturing processes for heat exchanger products. This individual will be responsible for the planning and implementation of process improvements, cost reductions, and technical problem-solving in a fast-paced and highly regulated environment.
This is a hands-on position that offers the opportunity to directly influence product quality, efficiency, and innovation.
Rate Range : $55/hour - $60/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply continuous improvement methods (e.g., Lean Manufacturing) to enhance quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Identify root causes of failures using statistical tools and recommend design or process improvements.
- Design, install, and troubleshoot manufacturing equipment and workspaces.
- Evaluate and improve fabrication processes including tooling, assembly methods, and quality control standards.
- Collaborate on the design and testing of finished products to establish standards and validate processes.
- Review product designs for manufacturability and support procurement and documentation of new manufacturing processes.
- Lead initiatives in sustainable manufacturing and assess financial impact.
- Provide technical expertise and support across cross-functional teams.
- Develop and implement standard work instructions for key manufacturing operations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or similar degree.
- 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, ideally in a highly regulated industry such as Aerospace, Military, Nuclear, or Automotive.
- Hands-on experience in metal fabrication, welding, and/or brazing of pressure-containing products.
- Proficient with MRP systems (Oracle preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and layouts.
- Strong technical, analytical, and project management skills.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Ability to think critically, solve problems effectively, and manage competing priorities.
