Job Title:
Manufacturing Engineer
Job Purpose
- Determine repair & overhaul processes to meet workshop goals according to product specifications.
- Collaborate with operations to identify issues and opportunities; recommend solutions or improvements.
- Plan and design methods to improve efficiency; train employees on new processes and methods.
- Enhance equipment availability and capability through continuous improvement tools and cross-functional work.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
New Product Development (NPD):
- Evaluate technically the repair and overhaul of aircraft components to deliver engineering solutions.
- Perform reverse engineering of component assemblies.
- Develop, evaluate, and approve alternative tooling designs.
- Lead or support NPD projects to ensure timely and budget-compliant delivery.
- Produce detailed design documentation, drawings, and analyses.
- Support the creation of technical procedures for workshop guidance and engineering-to-operations handover.
Sustaining Engineering:
- Provide technical support during equipment breakdowns or non-conformances, including troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
- Maintain internal technical records.
- Design or upgrade tooling and equipment within budget, meeting test specifications.
- Use industrial engineering methods to identify process standard hours and improvement opportunities.
Other Responsibilities:
- Support OpEx and change management initiatives at various organizational levels (e.g., Kaizens, GEMBA, 5S).
Experience
Relevant experience in aerospace engineering, manufacturing processes, or related fields.
Qualifications & Competencies:
- Strong understanding of technical drawings and documentation.
- Knowledge of industry standards and regulations (AS9100, CAA/EASA, FAA Part 145 & Part 21G).
- Degree, HNC, or HND in Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace, or related engineering discipline.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging with diverse audiences and navigating cultural differences.
- Strong organizational and project planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Self-motivated, innovative, and focused on cost efficiency within budgets.
- Proficient in MS Office and CAD; quick learner of company-specific systems.
- Proactive team player with a methodical approach to streamline processes.
