Traveling Manual Machinist
Seeking an experienced Traveling Manual Machinist to support power plant maintenance and emergency services nationwide. This role involves operating manual lathes, mills, and boring bars inside power plants during scheduled outages and unplanned service needs. Must be willing to travel up to 95% and be gone extended periods at a time when needed.
Responsibilities:
Perform machining operations using manual lathes, mills, and boring bars inside power plants.
Travel extensively to power plants for scheduled outages and emergency repairs.
Conduct precision machining, repair, and modifications on turbines, pumps, and other critical components.
Work independently or within a team to meet deadlines in high-pressure environments.
Ensure adherence to safety protocols and industry regulations.
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
Qualifications:
Extensive experience with manual lathes, mills, and boring bars.
Strong background in power plant or industrial machining.
Ability to travel nationwide up to 95%.
Proficient in blueprint reading and precision measurement tools.
Commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
Previous experience working during plant outages preferred.
