Position Overview

The Managing Director, Liquidity will manage the design and execution of the liquidity adequacy process, developing frameworks and methodologies to facilitate asset and liability management and liquidity planning. Lead efforts around Internal Liquidity Stress Testing with a focus on both quantitative and qualitative components of Contingency Funding Plans, including modeled analysis and documented responses to crisis simulations. Monitor key risk drivers that may shift the direction of liquidity. Forecast components of liquidity and associated ratios and lead execution efforts to ensure the bank and holding company meet targeted levels and remain in compliance with evolving regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • The Managing Director of Liquidity will be responsible for the Liquidity Management Framework and regularly present updates to executive management along with the business case for strategic liquidity positioning.
  • The candidate will be responsible for establishing a centralized and consistent framework for liquidity adequacy assessments, ensuring an end-to-end perspective, and increasing transparency of methodologies, processes, governance, and results.
  • The candidate will be responsible for developing critical elements of the bank's newly mandated Resolution Plan and newly formed Liquidity Stress Testing Committee.
  • The candidate will maintain relationships with investment banks and stay abreast of developments in the capital markets to seek solutions that support the bank's liquidity position with minimal impact to earnings.
  • The role demands a strategic influencer with a deep understanding of regulatory requirements, liquidity planning methodologies, and hands-on experience in foundational risk management.
  • A successful candidate will possess strong verbal and written communication skills; a proactive self-starter with a strong project management mindset with the ability to interact with senior leaders and across diverse business functions.
Experience:
  • A finance background with Treasury experience is required; an advanced degree (MBA) or certification (CFA, CPA, FRM) is beneficial.
  • 7+ years of relevant liquidity management experience, ideally with a top-tier bank, consulting firm, or regulator.
  • Knowledge of liquidity management, including internal liquidity stress testing and knowledge of liquidity requirements under Reg YY, OCC bulletins, and Federal Reserve SR letters.

The estimated salary range for this position is $175,000 to $200,000. Actual salary may vary up or down depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position is eligible for incentive compensation.
