role in accomplishing these objectives. The Manager-Tax Accounting role is responsible for managing
the following activities:
• All tax functions of the Utility Company ( the Company ) which include the determination,
calculation and accounting of current and deferred income taxes.
• Calculation and maintenance of tax depreciation, and the calculation of tax credits and related
deferrals, amortizations, or carryforwards for the Company.
• Timely and accurate sales and property tax reporting.
• Implementing and perpetuating tax strategies to maximize savings and tax credit earnings.
• Representing the company during tax audits including IRS and state income or sales tax audits
and defending the company s tax position during rate cases.
• Modeling both tax expense, cashflows, and income tax liabilities for financial forecasts and
budgets.
• Ensuring compliance with all tax laws and regulations.
Qualifications
: If you enjoy interacting with many different areas and like to tackle each project as if it is
like a puzzle by determining where pieces best fit, then this is the job for you.
• To be successful in this role, a degree in accounting, business, or equivalent is required.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in corporate income tax accounting is required. This could
be in an accounting or audit role.
• Experience researching and interpreting tax legislation and implementing impacts.
• Experience with property and sales tax accounting.
• The ability to lead teams effectively with a continuous improvement mindset is a must.
• An intrinsically motivated individual that can pair efficiency with accuracy will feel good about
the results that they achieve.
• An individual who can evaluate facts and apply judgement in areas where the answer is not
always clear will thrive.
Annual Pay Range $92,000 - $115,000
