Job Description We are looking for you to join our team as a Systems Engineer and Manager as part of the Small Form Factor and F-22 Communications (SF3C) Engineering Department , based out of San Diego, CA. As a Systems Engineering Manager at Northrop Grumman, you will have the challenging and rewarding opportunity to be a part of our team developing communication systems supporting a diverse set of national defense missions. What You'll Get to Do: She/he will provide guidance to direct report employees based on organizational goals and company policies. Specific responsibilities include coordinating with programs for staffing, recruiting, training, preparing and delivering performance reviews to employees, evaluating/recommending employees for promotions evaluating salaries and coordinating with Human Resources on potential adjustments, assisting employees in preparing performance goals, providing career guidance to employees and counseling employees on their performance as necessary. The qualified candidate will also provide significant (approximately 80%) direct support to programs and/or other technical efforts. This position is open to all engineering disciplines however an ideal candidate will be one possessing digital, RF, embedded software, or system engineering backgrounds. This management role will require you to complete an assessment as part of the application process. Basic Qualifications: - Bachelor's Degree in STEM field with 5 years of relevant experience in digital, RF, embedded software, or systems engineering.- Ability to facilitate/mediate in conflict resolution matters
- Must have a full understanding of his/her specific engineering discipline
- Knowledge of engineering process, be proficient in process development and implementation as well as functional organization aspect
- Familiarity with other Engineering disciplines - Must be able to obtain/maintain a Secret Clearance, interim required to start - US Citizenship is required in order to obtain and maintain security clearance Preferred Qualifications: - VHDL/Verilog, embedded software, hardware design experience - Direct supervisory/managerial experience and/or significant team leadership (IPT lead) - Experience with real-time embedded communication systems - Hands on experience with DoD communications systems, including software-defined radio solutions - Performs technical planning, functional analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate requirements into hardware and software specifications. Need to address that the candidate would be required to continue to provide direct support on their current program effort. Salary Range: $129,900.00 - $194,900.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
