Job Description: Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a dedicated Supplier Quality Manager who will lead a high performing Supplier Quality Engineering team for the Networked Information Solutions (NIS) Division in San Diego. This person will be responsible for proposing, executing, monitoring, and reporting on the health and quality of products and services from our suppliers to meet the missions of our programs. The qualified candidate will have demonstrated success leading organizations within cost and schedule while achieving a high level of employee engagement. Candidates must demonstrate a proven track record of solving complex problems through systematic and objective evaluation of information resulting in effective communication, championing, and implementation of change with a diverse set of internal and external customers and suppliers. Drives and implements industry practices and strategies to predict where Supplier Quality functions and work products will evolve. Defines and monitors Supplier Quality program specifications and processes to ensure mission success of programs. Performs or assures quality and risk management for program achievements in accordance with contractual requirements. Assesses supplier performance and risks and determines resources to ensure mission assurance. The qualified individual will have the ability to lead continuous improvement efforts internally and externally and work collaboratively with other functions; have demonstrated understanding of the program/product lifecycle in the areas of supply chain management, receiving operations, inventory control, production control, product test & evaluation, root cause analysis, product sell off, shipping and product support as they apply to quality. Ideal candidate will also possess demonstrated ability to drive risk mitigation, develop return to green plan (RTG) for high-risk suppliers, and resolve issues resolution across all stakeholder disciplines throughout all phases of the product development lifecycle on a fast paced, complex, dynamic, high visibility program. What You'll Get to do: Leads operations of the Supplier Quality team aligned to the NIS Division
Assures compliance in quality, risk management, safety, process improvement, and subcontractor and supplier quality in accordance with contractual requirements and drives forward early predictive indicators of risk.
Participates in site Preventive Corrective Action Boards (PCABs), Program reviews, and Customer meetings as the Supplier Quality (SQ) representative.
Familiarity with Cost and Earned Value Management System (EVMS), Basis of Estimate (BOE), maintaining program budget requirements and preform analysis for staffing.
Leverages comprehensive metrics to ensure program success.
Sets the strategy to improve supplier performance and ensure supplier quality, regularly communicating program status.
Promotes the professional development of the Supplier Quality workforce and fosters a collaborative culture that sustains the momentum around employee engagement and inclusion, affordability, innovation, value growth and continuous improvement.
Provides clear assignments, helps employees connect their efforts to the bigger picture, creates an inclusive work environment characterized by mutual respect and the valuing of differences, and builds a culture that motivates employees to their highest levels of performance. Influences Leadership development with the focus on strong succession planning and strategic leadership movement and partners with Business leaders to build the leadership depth that supports our Quality Succession Planning process. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering discipline and/or applicable STEM Degree
9+ years of relevant defense, aerospace Industry or commercial manufacturing experience management, supply chain, engineering, and manufacturing; 13 years (or more) of relevant experience in lieu of degree.
Experience leading teams and/or projects.
Experience with Earned Value, labor estimating, and proposals.
U.S. citizen
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance. Preferred Qualifications: SAP Business System experience.
Familiarity with ISO 9001/AS9100 Quality Management System certification process.
3+ years of leadership experience in disciplines such as quality, program
Excellent written and verbal interpersonal communication, leadership, and mentoring skills and confidence to brief upper management.
Master's degree in an engineering or management field.
Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt Certification-Agile Certification.
Defense Industry experience as a Program or Project Manager, Quality Manager, Supplier Quality Manager, Supply Chain Manager, Engineering Manager or Manufacturing Management.

Salary Range: $97,600.00 - $146,400.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
