This position is part of the central supply chain management team within Samsung's Mobile division. The role involves leading the core mobile customer account and helping SEA achieve its business objectives, while being accountable for key global performance indicators. This team acts as the "control tower" for SEA, proactively identifying risks and opportunities at the customer, company, and headquarters levels. Key success factors for this role include guiding a team in seamlessly executing supply chain management processes, driving operational excellence, and achieving business results by supporting sales and functional teams.
Additionally, the candidate will provide business insights and recommendations based on data analysis. This position requires a hands-on approach, with responsibilities for assisting senior supply chain leadership with daily and weekly reporting activities. Key reporting areas include Purchase Sales Inventory (PSI), sell-in, sell-out, and supply management. Essential reports to be produced consist of demand forecasts, Weeks of Supply (WoS), production metrics, sell-in/sell-out performance, market insights, current month forecasting, weekly dashboards, and status updates. The candidate will monitor key supply chain management systems, identify outliers and anomalies, and resolve issues in collaboration with customer account teams.
The ideal candidate will possess strong business analytics experience and be able to clearly communicate insights and recommendations that drive business decisions at various levels within a fast-paced, matrix organization.
Role and Responsibilities
Weekly prepare Global forecast/PSI analysis and Operations Newsletter comparisons of actuals to various forecast plans
- Thorough data analytics, identifying success of promotions and sales programs, and suggesting recalibration to improve outcomes
- Providing sales with daily/weekly sellout forecast updates of products. Reviewing and identifying variances in weekly sellout deliveries, as compared to outstanding inventories and WOS (week of supplies)
- Analyzing weekly sell-in & sell-out to identify sales target status, ensuring fulfillment of delivery to achieve sales plans, product development, and new launches
- Create presentations with compelling stories to share with leadership and cross-functional teams to provide insights and recommendations
- Preparing profit & loss, market share analysis, sales deduction, marketing expenditure, and other related financial reports to identify performance and achievement of MX business goals
- Solving moderately complex technical problems and responding to non-standard requests from internal and external customers
- Evaluate market dynamics and consumer insights to improve the forecast, sales and operational performance
- Assist in creating presentations with compelling data-driven stories to share with leadership and cross-functional teams to provide insights and recommendations
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree is required. Master's Degree in Analytics will be a plus.
- 8 years of experience in data and analytics for marketing, sales, and/or operations functions, specifically in sales and supply chain operations, with strong business acumen
- Strong hands-on with Excel is a must to create consistent reporting, to build complex models, develop automation with Excel to increase efficiencies and publish accurate reports
- Must have a minimum of 4 years of in data management using python/R/VBA will be a plus
- Strong experience in forecasting sales and identifying insights with various methodologies
- Experience with data modeling or analysis tools, e.g., Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, SPSS, or similar
- Knowledge of machine learning time series and regression models for forecasting, pricing and promotional analytics will be a plus
