We are searching for a Manager of Respiratory Care-Clinical someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will manage all activities related to the Respiratory Care Department on his respective shift. To provide patient care developmentally appropriate for the ages of patients served (infant to young adult).

Job Duties & Responsibilities
• Directly supervises staff in day-to-day operations to ensure that appropriate hospital and departmental policies are followed accurately by direct observation of staff, staff interviews, and feedback from staff and co-workers.
• Responsible for performing routine personnel management procedures including employee coaching, counseling, and performance reviews. Following up on incident reports and ensuring the professional development of all direct reports.
• Participates in developing a four-week schedule that results in equal distribution of staff throughout each week; has worked with the staff to plan a schedule that meets the needs of the employee without compromising the needs of the Department; the appropriate planning and long-term considerations are made when granting time off requests and special schedules; is creative and uses good judgment in coordinating the schedule with little or no assistance from the Assistant Director; posts schedule in a timely manner; consistently updates the T&A records and ensures his/her relief managers do the same.
• Completes all performance review documentation in a timely manner; documentation is complete, consistent, and applied fairly.
• Consistently demonstrates efficient utilization of staff.
• Clinical skills are exceptional; makes no errors in the clinical setting; anticipates and responds promptly to the clinical needs of the staff.
• Consistently provides a detailed, accurate, and pertinent shift report to the other managers; consistently keeps relief managers informed about all information necessary for managing the shift communicates, problem solves with, and builds a more interactive working relationship with the Materials managers.
• Practices time management techniques to accomplish all required duties in a timely manner; consistently beats deadlines.
• Consistently monitors and enforces the safe use of Hospital equipment and makes recommendations as needed to improve safety standards.
• Documents shift and/or manager meeting minutes clearly and accurately;
• Documents incident reports and generic screen occurrences completely and accurately
• Completes patient care audits promptly and documentation is consistently complete and accurate.
As part of our commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy workplace, all successful candidates will be required to undergo respiratory fit testing in compliance with occupational health and safety standards.
Skills & Requirements
• Required H.S. Diploma or equivalent, Technical Diploma, Graduate of a certification/registry program, bachelor's degree in respiratory care
• Required RCP - Lic- Respiratory Care - RCP by the Texas Medical Board, RRT CERT - Cert-Reg Respiratory Therapist by the National Board for Respiratory Care. Preferred BLS - Cert-Basic Life Support by the AHA
• Required 3 years of clinical experience in both critical and non-critical care areas. Preferred 1 year of management experience
