Quality Control Manager
Department: Quality Control
Job Title: QC Manager
Work Schedule: Day shift, flexible hours. Overtime as required.
Full or Part Time: Full time only
Reports to: Sales Manager
Salary: $90K - 130K DOE
OBJECTIVE: Oversee all aspects of our product quality program including promoting health & safety as our number one core value, innovative solutions for customers, mix optimization, and employee development.
POSITION PROFILE:

- Able to perform frequent visual inspections of product.
Specific duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
RESPONSIBILITIES: - Health and Safety: Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving, and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas. Ensures all aspects of his/her role are executed in a safe manner. Obeys safety guidelines when on public roads, construction sites and Raptor Materials.
- Value Added Products (VAP): Assist sales in promotion of proprietary products. Provide technical expertise in sales and operations.
- Quality Control and Quality Assurance: Responsible for the design and performance of all concrete mixes. Ensure through sampling of aggregates, cement, and other materials that they meet established standards. Manage existing and future Quality Control and Process control Programs. Communicate quality control information to all relevant organizational departments. Monitor benchmark and target improvement in quality KPI's. Develop and participate in cost control improvements.
- Materials and specifications: Ensure that all plants have appropriate mix designs and determine appropriate batch weight for all mixes at each plant.
- HR/Coaching and Mentoring: Select, hire, train, and terminate technicians when required. Manage all daily fields and lab QC technicians and activities. Provide product quality training for sales, operations, and hourly employees.
- Association Involvement: Participate in industry associations as a representative of Raptor Materials. Promote Raptor Materials interests and communicate in a manner which upholds the Company as a quality materials supply company.
Relationship with Other Jobs - Works closely with the Sales, Operations personnel, and Plant personnel.
Specific Accountabilities: - Safety performance
- Responsible for achieving performance targets for safety, service, and all aspects of quality control.
- Customer satisfaction and any material performance issues.
- Provide verbal and/or written test results to management and production staff in a timely manner.
- Certifies results of laboratory findings.
- Assured that material produced and shipped meet State and customer specifications.
- Perform standard functions including:
- Daily sampling of aggregate
- Daily visual inspection of aggregate stockpiles
- Daily recordkeeping and reporting
- Daily communications with lab, production, and sales staff.
- Keep all informed of project scheduling and maintenance of inventory to ensure timely delivery of products and procuring of materials needed to make products.
- Reduce GWP of mixed designs.
- Solid understanding of the operations of aggregate and concrete plants to enable problems to be identified and resolved quickly and cost effective.
Qualifications: - Degree in engineering a plus
- 5 years of related experience
- Excellent customer service skills. Dedicated to meeting the expectations of internal and external customers.
- Must be flexible and able to balance shifting priorities to meet deadlines.
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills and the desire to seek solutions.
- Possess a general knowledge of construction and Raptor Materials products and a solid understanding of the market, competition, and business opportunities.
- Excellent leadership skills - must be able to motivate others and provide complete, direct, and actionable feedback.
- Possess a commitment and willingness to devote great effort and time to reach goals.
- Must have a strategic business focus and ability to anticipate future consequences and trends accurately.
- Proficient with Microsoft applications, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
