General Summary Manages the entire Operations department in a 24/7 operation that produces premium, fresh-baked food products. Directs the work activities of salaried employees; delivers bottom-line business results in the areas of safety, quality, and cost. Drives attainment of business objectives and facilitates strategy for the benefit of the overall organization. Active participant in the continuous improvement process; identifies improvement opportunities and guides direct reports to improve bottom-line results and enhance the Company's competitive position. Develops the capabilities and competencies of employees through ongoing training, coaching, and mentoring; promotes employee engagement, empowerment, and teamwork. Ensures full compliance with all applicable Federal and State laws and regulations, as well as Company policies and standards related to safety, quality, and workplace conduct. Minimum Requirements: Associate's degree 7 years' experience working in a manufacturing facility 3 years of people management experience Preferred Qualifications: B.A. degree in Business Administration or a related field. Education desired: M.A. degree in Business Administration or a related field. Cross-functional operations experience with a proven track record of delivering successful business results in the areas of operations management, safety, quality, continuous improvement and cost. Previous experience managing groups of salaried employees in a manufacturing environment. Previous experience working in a lean manufacturing environment employing Six Sigma concepts. Comprehensive knowledge of OSHA standards, HACCP guidelines, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), etc. Ongoing passion to identify continuous improvement opportunities and lead initiatives to deliver bottom-line results. Must be a change agent. Outstanding analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written). Must possess strong training/facilitation skills. Computer proficiency in Windows-based software applications (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.). Six Sigma Green Belt and/or Black Belt certification preferred. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team environment. Drive for results. Principal Accountabilities Establishes production and quality control standards, develops budget and cost controls, CTS programs for all manufactured products relating to the production department. Ensures all established safety, cost, and quality objectives are met. Facilitate and/or direct resolution to issues as it relates to food safety and quality (also during the absence of the Plant Manager). Provides guidance to the development of a manufacturing process plans for products, including personnel requirements, material needs, subcontract requirements, facility needs, and tooling and equipment needs. Coordinates manufacturing activities with all other functions of the organization and suppliers to obtain optimum production and utilization of human resources, machines, and equipment. Proactively supports and participates in all continuous improvement activities and initiatives. Reviews production and operating reports and directs the resolution of operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays. Facilitate and/or direct resolution to issues as it relates to food safety and quality (also during the absence of the Plant Manager). Determines responsibilities of assigned organization and staff positions to accomplish business objectives. Develops and implements effective communication plans to keep Plant Management, Corporate, and direct/indirect reports well-informed regarding business objectives, results, initiatives, changes, etc. Provides input to the development of product strategy and research and development of new and emerging products. Trains and ensures all assigned employees are aware of and comply with company, government, and customer policies, procedures, and regulations. Facilitate and/or direct resolution to issues as it relates to food safety and quality. Assumes responsibility for ensuring adherence to Food Safety practices and policies. Job Complexity (provide several examples of typical work-related problems that this position is expected to resolve) Has 24-hour accountability for the operation; must be available round-the-clock to provide guidance and direction and address any issues that impact the company. Responsible for the daily management of the operation, as well as for strategic planning, budgeting, enabler identification and execution, capital projects, etc. Must possess the ability to overcome resistance to organizational change, influence all employees to embrace it, and lead the change initiative. Must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize based on business needs. Must develop and maintain rapport with employees at all levels of the Campbell Soup/Pepperidge Farm organization to drive results. Must interface effectively with multiple departments/functions in the plant, as well as Corporate Senior Management. Working Conditions The working environment includes both office and plant floor settings. Exposure to industrial noise, forklift traffic, moving mechanical parts, and temperature extremes occurs in operating areas of the plant. Compensation and Benefits: The target base salary range for this full-time, salaried position is between $101,000-$145,100 Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. Total pay may include other forms of compensation. In addition, we offer competitive health, dental, 401k and wellness benefits beginning on the first day of employment.
