Position Summary:
The Manager, Pharmacy ensures compliance, operational efficiency, and team excellence while supporting Empower's mission to expand access to innovative, affordable medications. This role drives process improvements, fosters growth, and delivers exceptional service in a collaborative healthcare environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensures compliance with federal and state pharmacy laws and regulations, including proper licensing, and oversees the safe storage and handling of prescription drugs, hazardous drugs, and controlled substances.
Develops and implements systems, procedures, and metrics across multiple shifts to drive performance and efficiency using Lean Six Sigma methodologies, while preparing and distributing regular performance reports to the Pharmacist in Charge.
Creates and maintains work instructions and standard operating procedures, ensuring consistent training and development for staff to support operational excellence.
Manages staffing processes, including interviews, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions, while fostering a positive and productive work environment.
Oversees inventory control processes, such as first-in, first-out procedures, and delivers exceptional customer service to both internal and external stakeholders.
While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to talk and hear. The employee is often required to remain in a stationary position for a significant amount of the workday and frequently use their hands and fingers to handle or feel in order to access, input, and retrieve information from the computer and other office productivity devices. The employee is regularly required to move about the office and around the corporate campus. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
Knowledge and Skills:

Possesses thorough knowledge of Texas pharmacy laws, inventory management practices including First In, First Out, and pharmacy management systems, with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and the flexibility to work extended hours, including weekends.

Experience and Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in pharmacy operations, with at least 2 years in a leadership or management role required.
Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy required; Doctor of Pharmacy degree preferred.
Registered and in good standing with the Texas Board of Pharmacy as a licensed Pharmacist preferred; Lean six sigma white belt or greater preferred.
Demonstrated experience leveraging AI in daily work to drive efficiency, solve problems, and enhance decision-making-adept at integrating AI-powered solutions into all workflows.
