We have a full-time opening for a Manager of Volunteer Engagement at The Fort Wayne Rescue Mission. The schedule for this position is Monday - Friday 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. The starting wage for this role is $41,000 annually.

Position Description
The Manager of Volunteer Engagement oversees volunteer recruiting, engagements and communications within the Volunteer Engagement Dept. The Manager of Volunteer Engagement should have the heart of a servant in accordance with Colossians 3:23 "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters."
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
- Work with CSO to develop and refine the Rescue Mission's "core" messages to volunteers to ensure organizational consistency and an excellent volunteer experience.
- Provide essential tactics and ideas relative to growth to the CSO.
- Work collaboratively with the Stewardship team, Operations and Ministries teams to create and implement volunteer and relational strategies to broaden the impact of the Rescue Mission's programs in our community.
- Recruit for and coordinate all volunteer needs for The Rescue Mission and build relationships by providing meaningful volunteer engagement opportunities.
- Respond to volunteer inquiries and upon approval of volunteer application process, coordinate volunteer engagements.
- Conduct volunteer tours.
- Maintain the volunteer schedule(s) and distribute schedule(s) to appropriate staff liaisons; Update volunteer calendar.
- Deploy volunteers for volunteer engagement opportunities and oversee volunteers during engagements and/or coordinate with staff liaisons.
- Manage and maintain Volunteer Management System - "VOMO".
- Represent The Rescue Mission at volunteer fairs and/or community awareness events.
- Assist Director of Events with planning and conducting volunteer events.
- Be a vital member of the Stewardship team and provide needed insight related to volunteerism at The Rescue Mission.
Other Duties
- Attend quarterly All Staff meetings.

Education Training and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in nonprofit management, journalism, marketing, public relations or communications required.
- Must have one (1) to three (3) years of experience in non-profit environment in the areas of donor relations, fundraising, events, public relations, or marketing support.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Advanced computer skills with solid Microsoft Office Suite skills, including high comfort level in Excel, Teams, PowerPoint, Internet, and email
- Experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems, fundraising or event software preferred
- Experience with graphic design software, such as Adobe InDesign preferred but not required
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Excellent organization and time-management skills
- Self-motivated, self-starter and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously; strong interpersonal communication skills and ability to work quickly with direction and without close supervision
