DIBS is seeking a Manager of Packaging, reporting to the Head of Product Development & Packaging. This is an exciting opportunity to join a young brand in high-growth mode (as one of the fastest new brands in Ulta Beauty) with the ability to make your mark and strongly influence the brand's pipeline. This individual will own the end-to-end management of each product's packaging in development. In addition to overseeing all packaging development, this position is responsible for all primary & secondary artwork routing ensuring consistency and quality, will assist in PR kit development, and will be responsible for sourcing and presenting new packaging innovation to leadership. VM experience is also a plus.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Lead Packaging Innovation: Oversee the end-to-end packaging development process from concept ideation through final production, ensuring all packaging aligns with DIBS Beauty's brand identity, innovation strategy and quality standards.
- Own Timelines: Be the gatekeeper of merging packaging + development timelines, ensuring assembly is meeting retail and E-Commerce deadlines, prioritizing ocean shipping over air throughout the development process, and minimizing unnecessary expenses.
- Manage Packaging Design and Execution: Spearhead functional unique aesthetic packaging solutions that elevate the user experience.
- Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Partner with Marketing, Operations, and Finance to ensure timely launches, high-quality standards, and seamless integration into the broader brand strategy.
- Vendor Management: Source and manage relationships with diversified portfolio of packaging vendors and global manufacturers to deliver high-quality, cost-effective solutions.
- Ensure Compliance and Sustainability: Guarantee all packaging meets regulatory, safety, and environmental standards across all markets.
- Trend Analysis and Competitor Research: Stay ahead of industry trends and competitor launches to maintain DIBS Beauty's competitive edge.
- Budget Oversight: Manage budgets for packaging to optimize resources, maintain margin, and maximize ROI.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience: 4-5 years of packaging experience in the beauty industry.
- Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of packaging engineering, tooling and manufacturing processes.
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to collaborate with teams while managing multiple projects in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. Experience in a founder-led brand also preferred, this role will work closely with both co-founders.
- Creative Vision: A keen eye for design and innovation, with the ability to translate market trends into breakthrough packaging.
- Project Management: Exceptional organizational skills with experience managing complex timelines, budgets, and deliverables.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of packaging related global beauty regulations.
This job is primarily remote, however a New York home-base is preferred and will be given priority. The expected base salary range for this position is $90,000-$100,000. The exact base salary is determined by various factors including experience, skills, education, geographic location, and budget.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- This is a fully remote position with expected travel to NY and Los Angeles for trade shows and in-person team meetings.
