Manatee Memorial Hospital in Bradenton, Florida, has served the citizens of Manatee, Sarasota and surrounding counties for over 70 years. Part of the Manatee Healthcare System, the hospital has earned The Joint Commission's Gold Seal of Approval. The 295-bed hospital with over 800 physicians, residents and allied health professionals, offers advanced healthcare services in a caring and compassionate environment. Services include cardiac care and cardiovascular medicine, emergency care for all ages, surgery services - including robotic-assisted surgery with the da Vinci Surgical System, a weight-loss program, orthopedic services, outpatient and inpatient radiology and rehabilitation, respiratory care, sleep, oncology, wound care and women's and children's services. Manatee Memorial Hospital also offers a Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit for babies with special needs.
The Nurse Manager will be responsible for managing the ER Holds and supplemental staffing programs (resource team) and will assist with leadership duties over House Nursing Supervisors, Staffing Coordinators, Patient Flow Coordinator, Vascular Access Team, Dialysis, Wound Care, Cardiac Rehab and various supplemental staffing programs. Collaborates with various departments to facilitate seamless patient care and that patient flow is not hindered due to lack of adequate resources. Forecasts current and future staffing needs and works collaboratively with nursing leadership to design and execute recruitment and retention initiatives. Anticipates patient capacity requirements, maximizing and/or compressing patient capacity to appropriately accommodate patients while maintaining favorable productivity.
Job Information
- May assist with coordinating the placement of admissions and transfers in accordance with clinical standards, guidelines, and regulatory requirements
- Assures the patient is admitted to the most appropriate level of care
- Collaborates with other Nursing Managers and Nursing Directors to ensure the effective and efficient patient placement and optimal allocation of resources
- Works collaboratively with other nursing leaders to monitor and manage nursing productivity
- Assists with position control and position allocation information so that appropriate resources are available
- Assists with the administration of the automated staffing and scheduling system and patient placement system
- Ability to problem-solve and work effectively with management and staff
- Ability to plan, develop, and interpret budget and financial statements
- Ability to lead process improvement initiatives

Qualifications - BSN, required
- MSN, preferred; MBA or other health-related masters will be considered
- Current Florida State RN license
- Current BLS though American Heart Association
- Current ACLS through American Heart Association
- 3 year of progessive management experience, required
