Job Title: IT Manager

Reports To: Chief Information Officer
Pay Range: $80,000 - $85,000 annually

The IT Manager role is to ensure the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the cloud-based and in-house information systems that support core organizational functions within Newfields. This is a professional position requiring the highest level of technical skill in IT operations. The IT Manager is responsible for performing complex IT projects and configurations, troubleshooting and resolving critical issues, database administration and development, creating data center updates, and developing and deploying solutions to new challenges. The IT Manager provides technical leadership and strategies aimed at enhancing security, performance, and reliability while minimizing outages and risks. This is a full-time role, and you will work a full in-office schedule based in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Description of Duties:

• Build and maintain an advanced skillset/knowledge in troubleshooting infrastructure and application suite.

• Escalate to vendors under existing support contracts, tracking and documenting vendor compliance to existing Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

• Communicate as a liaison with vendors and other IT personnel to resolve issues.

• Author, edit, and QA knowledgebase articles.

• Provide documentation on any deployed solution.

• Assist the CIO with change management, problem management, and service communication for any deployed solution.

• Make recommendations for additional support contracts.

• Ability to work with staff to develop a vision and independently lead the implementation of new capabilities.

• Ability to lead in the development and performance of project management for cybersecurity operations.

• Ability to communicate the status of IT operations, to include developing, executing, documenting, and tracking repeatable organizational metrics.

• Familiarity with Backup software, Endpoint protection, Email Security, Virtual environments, Cloud Computing Services (Azure, Google, Amazon), and M365.

• Troubleshoot networking hardware and internet connectivity.

• Participate in the management of the IT budget and other administrative tasks.
Collaboration and Project Management

• Lead complex infrastructure projects from design through deployment, including cloud integrations with Azure and M365.

• Collaborate with cross-functional IT teams to resolve issues within SLAs and improve operational efficiency.

• Assist with contacts for vendors, service contracts, and tracking compliance.

• Operate within a fast-paced IT environment with on-call rotation responsibilities to ensure 24/7 operational support.

Education/Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or an equivalent level of experience.

• 5+ years overall IT infrastructure experience and 3+ years of recent operational security experience (SOC, Incident response, Malware Analysis, etc.).

• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.

• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, Windows, Linux, and macOS operating systems.

• Understanding of network principles.

• The ability to completely follow IT operations best practices such as security, storage, data protection, and disaster recovery protocols.

• Ability to participate in on-call duties as needed.

• IT industry certifications - preferred, but not required (CCNA, VCP, MCSA, CompTIA Security+, CISSP)

While performing the duties of this position, the IT Manager is primarily required to sit for extended periods at a desk, working on a computer or reviewing documentation. The role may occasionally require walking, standing, and reaching with hands and arms, particularly when overseeing equipment setup or supporting team activities. The employee may occasionally need to lift and/or move equipment or office materials weighing up to 25 pounds. This position may also involve prolonged periods of concentration and decision-making related to IT operations and project management.

The work environment for this position is in a professional office setting within the organization's IT department. The environment is generally quiet to moderate noise level and is climate-controlled. The role involves frequent use of computers, servers, and other IT-related equipment. Interaction with other departments, vendors, and team members is common, requiring strong communication and collaboration skills. Occasional after-hours work or on-call availability may be required to support system updates, resolve critical issues, or manage emergency situations.
