By The Hand is a not-for-profit, religious organization. Individuals employed at By The Hand are working in ministerial roles and perform all or some of the following responsibilities: sharing the Gospel, teaching chapel, leading Bible studies, discipling students, and modeling behavior that is consistent with Christ's teaching.

Salary Range: $70,000 - $90,000

Overview of Position

The Manager of Fund Development Database and Operations will be responsible for providing strategic oversight in four critical areas: constituent data entry and management, data analysis and reporting, data systems management, and gift entry and processing. Ensuring all data processes are configured optimally, the person in this position will work closely with the Fund Development team to help maintain reliable, accurate, and consistent data. They will also assist and manage the gift entry and receipting process in partnership with the Donation Specialist. In addition, the position is responsible for managing all fundraising software and systems related to fundraising including the Raiser's Edge (RE) database, the integration of RE with other tools like GiveSmart, and will be an integral part of the migration from Raiser's Edge (RE) to Salesforce. It also includes reporting on the sub-team goals, metrics, and general performance. This position reports to the Chief Development Officer.

  • Works with staff and members of the EOS Leadership Team to monitor and enforce policies and procedures to further BTH's religious purpose and freedom.
Role Responsibilities
  • Performs in a way that is consistent with the vision, mission, and culture of By The Hand and commits to excellence in every aspect of the overall operation.
  • Models cultural values of By The Hand Club For Kids in day-to-day behavior.
  • Follows all policies as outlined in the operational guide, including maintaining brand standards and ensuring 100% adherence to the Child Protection Policy.
  • Participates in employee growth plans, including quarterly conversations and annual review meetings.
  • Helps create, update, and deliver queries, metrics, reports, visuals, and other reporting tools.
  • Identifies top prospects for Donor Relations Officers through database research.
  • Informs Fund Development leadership regarding organizational giving trends, equipping the department to make data-drive decisions.
  • Participates in testing the Salesforce instance during the migration process from Raiser's Edge to Salesforce.
  • Partner closely with BTH USA COO to develop the BTH Chicago Salesforce instance.
  • Develops, in conjunction with the Senior Vice President of Donor Relations and the Chief Development Officer, workflows, core processes, and ticklers in Salesforce for annual giving projections and moves management.
  • Produces insights for marketing and communications for nurture and drip campaigns.
  • Delivers insights regarding past corporate funders and renewal opportunities to Senior Vice President of Strategic Engagement.
  • Handles the internal security of the database including adding and removing users, assigning permissions/roles, and monitoring appropriate use.
  • Audits and monitors integrity of data, including clean up and maintenance.
  • Identifies opportunities to streamline departmental processes and procedures.
  • Works closely with gift processing to ensure accurate gift entry and receipting.
  • Conducts market, prospect, and donor research in order to prepare detailed reports on individuals and others identified as prospects.
  • Assists in major Fund Development events such as our annual Spring Benefit.
  • Performs all other duties assigned.

Education and Experience
  • B.A. or B.S. in Ministry, Communication, Business, Education, Computer Science or related field.
  • Experience using a donor database, Google Suite products, and MS Office Suite.
  • Experience in data management and/or data analysis.
  • Experience in Raiser's Edge CRM and/or Salesforce preferred.
  • Must have a valid driver's license, available transportation and their own auto insurance in order to travel around the city.
  • Past experience working with or volunteering with a Christ-centered, youth- serving organization preferred.
Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopier, filing cabinets and fax machines. This job is not a virtual job, but it requires in-person attendance as agreed upon by your immediate supervisor.

Physical Demands

The employee is regularly required to speak and listen. This role may require you to move equipment from room to room and lift up to 50 pounds. The individual is also required to travel throughout the city and to other organization sites to meet with partners, candidates, and staff.
