Job Description:

The Friends of Highland Manager is an integral member of the Experience team that will lead and development all aspects of the volunteer program by recruiting, interviewing, training and onboarding community volunteers in compliance with all regulatory requirements, policies and procedures. The Manager will work to strategically develop new volunteer opportunities that further enhance the patient and family experience at Highland and will cultivate engagement to ensure that those who participate in the program have an extraordinary volunteer experience. The manager will ensure that all activities align with the hospitals mission, vision and ICARE values.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Responsible for developing, managing, implementing, evaluating and maintaining the volunteer program that benefits patients, family members, staff and volunteers at Highland Hospital. Directly responsible for the logistics of the program including recruitment, interviewing and coordination. Oversees and conducts onboarding orientations and interviews perspective volunteers and makes decisions regarding the best placement for the candidate within the organization. Oversees regulatory requirements and standards for compliance as they relate to HIPAA training, Joint Commission, NYSDOH and NYSDOL requirements, as well as oversight of internal requirements including but not limited to NYS exclusion screening for volunteers, programs for minors compliance management and internal Employee Health compliance. Develops and recommends policies and procedures based on statistical and historical volunteer program data.
  • Builds and maintains relationships within the hospital and the community through education and collaboration. Ensures continuous growth of the volunteer program by utilizing highly developed sales and marketing skills to create and develop new patient and family centered care volunteer positions throughout the organization.
  • Evaluates opportunities and drives innovation within the volunteer tracking software. Ensures that all tracking and reporting is up to date and completed in a timely manner. Consistently works to enhance the utilization of the software to increase efficiency and productivity.
  • Assumes accountability and operational support for financial management of all Friends of Highland activities. Develops and monitors the operating budget for Friends of Highland. Oversees fiscal management of the department. Develops and implements systems procedures related to fiscal infrastructure.
  • Provides leadership and oversight for the Highland Gift Shop.
  • Ensures the delivery of exemplary customer service across the volunteer program.
  • Develops and manages annual program goals and implementation plan.
  • Develops and implements targeted programs and trainings to improve volunteer knowledge, skills and experience in areas relevant to Highland's mission, vision and ICARE values.
  • Conducts ongoing evaluation of the volunteer program, its processes, policies and activities; recommends and implements improvements as necessary.
  • Plans and implements formal and informal volunteer recognition activities to show appreciation for the contributions of volunteers to the organization.
Pay Range :

Pay Range: $63,800.00 - 94,803.44

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations

Job Requirements:

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business, Organizational Management, Fundraising, or other field required.

Experience: Three to five years of progressive leadership experience required

Skills: Demonstrated skills in community relations, human relations, administrative, and human resources functions required. Good oral and written communication skills; ability to communicate and interact with various age groups; patience, compassion, outgoing, tactful, flexible and professional manner; Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office.
