Job Details: General Notes The Office of Information Technology at the Dell Medical School is seeking an IT Manager, Integrations. This position is remote and will require reliable internet access and a suitable workspace free from distractions. Prior approval of a remote work location is required to ensure alignment with UT guidelines.
Purpose The Information Technology Manager for Integrations is responsible for leading and managing the organization's integration team, strategy, and technical infrastructure, which includes multiple integration engine systems, Epic Bridges interfaces, and Data Courier functions. This role oversees the development, implementation, and maintenance of system integrations across both enterprise administrative and healthcare clinical systems, ensuring seamless data flow and interoperability throughout the organization. Additionally, this position manages a functional area within Dell Medical School IT operations that includes recruiting, hiring, and overseeing IT team members, professional staff, technical staff, and/or student workers. The IT Manager administers personnel issues, coaches employees in the functional area, and facilitates professional development opportunities. This role also participates in technical planning for the functional area.
Responsibilities - Leadership & Team Management: Leads a team of integration specialists, developers, and analysts, establishing clear goals and performance metrics. The team develops staffing plans for recruitment and training, while building team expertise in integration technologies including Epic Bridges and Data Courier operations.
- Technical Operations & Strategy: Oversees the Integration Engine platforms and Epic Bridges environment, maintaining the organization's integration strategy and roadmap. The team collaborates with Architects to design solutions that align with technical standards, while ensuring system reliability and best practices for all integration technologies.
- Project & Process Management: Directs multiple integration projects, collaborating with stakeholders to define specifications and coordinate needs. The group maintains project plans and change management processes, including Epic Bridges implementations and Data Courier configurations within Epic's maintenance schedule.
- Systems Integration Management: Oversees integrations across clinical and enterprise systems, ensuring compliance with healthcare standards and regulatory requirements. Responsible for directing interface development between clinical systems and enterprise platforms, including Epic Bridges interfaces, Data Courier implementations, and ERP systems, while maintaining expertise in both healthcare operations and enterprise architecture.
- Security & Compliance: Partners with the Cybersecurity team on security controls, risk assessments, and audit responses. Ensures all integration practices, including Epic Bridges and Data Courier operations, align with security requirements and regulatory standards.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities - Participates in technical planning for functional area.
- Establishes close communications and good working relationships with customer representatives and management.
- Exercises independent judgment and makes decisions within some existing guidelines.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. 6 years managing technology teams developing integrations. 2 years managing technology teams developing integrations in a healthcare environment.
Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. 2 years developing interfaces on Rhapsody, Intersystems, IBM or similar integration engines. 2 years developing integrations between EHRs and revenue cycle systems. Experience in project management, change management, or Six Sigma Black Belt Certification.
Salary Range $160,000+ depending on qualifications
