Job Summary: The Manager, Network Services oversees the technical planning, coordination, availability, performance, capacity and reliability for Saint Francis Health System (SFHS) computing environment supporting clinical, business and administrative technology services. This role manages the direction of services according to the strategic goals of the organization as they apply to Information Technology (IT) operations and oversees the low voltage infrastructure cabling standards and practices for all facilities.
Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field.
Licensure, Registration and/or Certification: None.
Work Experience: Minimum 3 years of related experience in technical support.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills. Working knowledge and proficiencies with networking technology and practices, firewall infrastructure and administration, wireless infrastructure, Virtual Private Networks (VPN), load balancing technology, data center networking, and low voltage infrastructure cabling standards and practices. Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills to locate and solve problems. Ability to effectively supervise, mentor/coach, and motivate a diverse staff. Working knowledge of technology trends, best practices, and industry standards. Working knowledge of and familiarity with disaster recovery and business continuity planning and processes. Working knowledge of and familiarity with purchase, installation, and life-cycle maintenance of IT infrastructure equipment and software. Working knowledge of project management principles. Working knowledge of Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) third version (v3) and IT change control management.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Identifies issues and appropriate courses of action to drive resolution based on established service level agreements. Develops road maps for current systems, facilitates research, and oversees the implementation of new technologies. Manages day-to-day IT operations of the network infrastructure environments. Oversee the design, approval, and implementation of technical projects within the network, server, and clinical imaging infrastructure environment including disaster recovery planning, testing, and enterprise security solutions. Manages IT staffing, including recruitment, supervision, scheduling, development, evaluation, and disciplinary actions. Reviews, coordinates, and establishes vendor and consultant contracts and service agreements. Assists in the development of capital and operational budgets. Benchmarks, analyzes, and makes recommendations for the improvement and growth of the network to support all network connected devices throughout the organization.
Decision Making: Independent judgment in making decisions involving non-routine problems under general supervision.
Working Relationships: Direct supervision of others. Prepares and gives performance evaluations. Works directly with patients and/or customers. Works with internal and/or external customers via telephone or face to face interaction. Works with other healthcare professionals and staff. Works frequently with individuals at Director level or above.
