Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Deputy Mission Assurance Manager 1 to support the Program Quality and Mission Assurance Manager across multiple contracts. This position will be located in Huntsville, Alabama with potential to travel to other Northrop Grumman sites, supplier sites, or customer sites as required. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated individual who possesses the ability to successfully engage with program personnel to provide solutions and coach/mentor others in the use of quality principles and practices. They will have excellent oral and written communication, data analysis and problem-solving skills and will have the ability to document, plan and manage projects to lead effectively in a team setting while ensuring quality, risk management, safety, reliability and maintainability of program achievements, subcontractors, and suppliers are in accordance with contractual requirements across multiple programs. What you will get to do: Lead and mentor the Quality and Mission Assurance program team and foster a culture of continuous improvement within the organization
Ensure all software and hardware products consistently meet the highest quality standards before delivery to enhance customer satisfaction, reduce costs, and minimize risk
Plan and monitor work operations of individual contributors and actively assist or provide clear direction using established policies, procedures, and practices
Establish and maintain compliance with Quality Management System (QMS) policies, procedures, and processes to ensure the performance and quality of products conform to established standards, specifications and customer requirements
Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supplier Performance Management/Supplier Quality and Global Supply Chain to ensure quality is inherent in every requirement, design, work product, and end-product delivered by Northrop Grumman
Lead and participate in root cause and corrective action analyses (RCCA) and failure investigations for high impact issues and teaches/coaches/mentors personnel in the use of RCCA for lower-level issues
Identify potential risks related to hardware and software products and develop mitigation strategies
Develop and deliver quality-related content/presentations to program leadership and other stakeholders
Support Earned Value Management System (EVMS)/Control Account Manager (CAM) responsibilities including the planning, coordination, and achievement of all work within a Control Account Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree AND 8 years of related experience in at least one of the following areas: Engineering, Production/Manufacturing, Mission Assurance and/or Quality Assurance OR a Master's degree AND 6 years of related experience in at least one of the following areas: Engineering, Production/Manufacturing, Mission Assurance and/or Quality Assurance OR a High School Diploma AND 12 years of related experience in at least one of the following areas: Engineering, Production/Manufacturing, Mission Assurance and/or Quality Assurance
Working knowledge of staffing, quality practices, quality engineering metrics and training resources, processes, and tools
Ability to read documentation such as contractual standards, program plans, statements of work, and requirements
Experience with ISO9001, and/or AS9100 industry standards
Knowledge of Root Cause and Corrective Action process and tools
Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret DOD Security Clearance
Must be able to work on-site in Huntsville, Alabama
Must have the ability to travel up to 10% domestically and internationally Preferred Qualifications: Dedicated to teamwork and be able to work well in a team environment
ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 trained auditor
Familiar with AS9102 and AS6500
Certified Control Account Manager (CAM)
Advanced Excel skills
Previous management experience
Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification
Active DOD Secret Security Clearance
Experience working with military or government contracts Salary Range: $112,600.00 - $169,000.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
