Position Summary

Marriott Vacations Worldwide (MVW) is seeking a dynamic, communications professional to join its Global Communications Center of Excellence that is focused on leading holistic and integrated communications strategies that build brand and business reputation and maximize impact among key stakeholders.

Reporting to the Director, Associate & Executive Communications, this role requires a professional with experience in internal and associate communications, executive communications, inclusion and diversity efforts, and employer branding. The position is responsible for the execution of day-to-day internal communications activities and ensuring alignment of messages from the company and all of its businesses to our global employee audience. This position will work closely with MVW's Executive Committee to ensure tailored messaging, as well as cross-functional senior leaders and functional heads in areas like Strategic Business Operations, Resort Operations, HR, Global Technology and additional business units.

The Manager will manage programs to support the annual internal communications strategy and employee engagement plan. The Manager will also be responsible for executing tactics and writing messages to sustain and improve overall associate experience and drive awareness of the MVW employee value proposition.

This role will execute the details of numerous projects aligned to business goals and objectives, including partnering with stakeholders and internal clients to build project plans with appropriate deliverables, schedule follow ups to share progress and remain on schedule, providing creative input, managing the review and approval processes, writing messages, as well as integration into usage for MVW associates at all levels and all brands/businesses.

Expected Contributions

Internal Communications Execution, Global Projects and Measurement

  • Partner with select members of MVW's Executive Committee to plan for and align on tailored function-specific messaging and visibility platforms.
  • Lead strategic communications planning and execution for global inclusion and diversity efforts, in partnership with Human Resources.
  • Serve as communications champion for Company's Life, Fulfilled talent brand statement.
  • Serve as a champion for change and cultural transformation, applying smart communication strategies and change management principles to enable speed and effectiveness.
  • Provide communication expertise, counsel and support for major business initiatives, including product transformations, reorganizations, policy changes, etc.
  • Help disseminate enterprise-led communications and overarching messaging to increase awareness, understanding, and pride across the organization.
  • Help strategize, plan for, and implement modern communication channels to reach diverse audiences.
  • Identify, prioritize and develop high-impact communications plans, campaigns and tactics.
  • Develop communications materials to help leaders prepare for key employee engagements and meetings(e.g., presentation materials, speeches, talking points).
  • Develop resources and tools to enhance communications effectiveness of senior leaders.
  • Work with the extended Global Communications team to contribute to content strategy and manage the internal communications editorial calendar for the department.
  • Monitor and track effectiveness of internal communications channels, messaging and programs and partner with leader to package results.

Function-Specific Communications Initiatives and Support

  • Consult and coach project teams, managers, and supervisors.
  • Provide direct support and coaching to key stakeholders and front-line managers of others as they help their direct reports through transitions.
  • Oversee team execution in accordance with project plans, tools, and methods, and support resource planning.
  • Support the design, development, delivery, and management of communications.
  • Assist with team/department deck development/webinars/meetings
  • Oversee Communications for assigned functional areas that could include Resort Operations, HR, IT, and the Exchange and Third-Party Management businesses
  • Draft and incorporate specific Communications into the broader business editorial communications calendar.
  • Provide program management excellence; keep multiple projects and initiatives on budget and on schedule.
  • Develop integrated marketing communications strategies and plans that support clearly defined business objectives.
  • Provide communications collateral that meets and exceeds business requirements.

Team Engagement and Driving Results

  • Maintain a focus on helping elevate team ability to think broadly and holistically about communications plans from concept to completion.
  • Develop, lead and inspire junior associates, each responsible for defining and delivering communications and branded experiences.
  • Have a laser focus on delivering against stated program objectives and employ a process of continuous improvement.

Candidate Profile

Education

  • BA or BS Degree Communications, Talent/Organizational Development, or Human Resources.
  • Change Management Professional and/or Project Manager certification preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in related field.
  • Proven experience delivering effective communications that deliver against our strategies, on time, on budget.
  • Timeshare/hospitality/lodging industry experience a plus.
  • Prior experience with company intranets a plus.
  • Change Management Professional and/or Project Manager certification a plus.

  • Strong ability to synthesize large amounts of information and turn them into actionable insights or communications programs.
  • Proven client-facing role experience working with teams on large scale, long-term projects.
  • Excellent oral communication, writing and presentation skills with experience presenting to all levels throughout the organization.
  • Travel required. Approximately 10% of time
  • Ability to gracefully handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
