Educational and Experience Requirement:Bachelor's degree required in related field. Master's degree preferred. Four years of experience in a related field. Additional education may be considered in lieu of experience.
Nature & Purpose of Position:Manages and coordinates day-to-day and long-term programmatic processes to include program planning, development, implementation, and evaluation in order to ensure the smooth and efficient operations of the LEMIT program.
Primary Responsibilities:Coordinates Bill Blackwood LEMIT programs and manages activities of staff. Establishes goals and objectives. Develops and approves schedules, priorities and standards for achieving goals. Plans, implements, coordinates, monitors and evaluates policies and procedures and monitors compliance with policies and procedures. Develops, implements and evaluates program materials. Identifies areas of change and makes recommendations to improve operations. Monitors budget and expenses within programs. Travels to facilitate training programs and attend conferences, trainings, and other law enforcement entities on behalf of LEMIT and SHSU. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Other Specifications:Knowledge of local, state and federal laws. Requires the ability to manage business functions. Communicates with other university departments, personnel and other agencies. A strong communication skill set is preferred. Must have excellent computer skills, experience in coordination skills and a broad understanding of financial budgets. Some travel is required.
Up to 20% of this position, over the fiscal year during off-peak periods, may be performed remotely as determined by the supervisor.
