Responsibilities:

Leadership and Team Building : Build and lead a dedicated Service Line finance team. Collaborate with key internal leaders to achieve goals and objectives. Maintain a work environment that attracts, retains, and motivates a diverse staff of top-quality professionals.

Coordination and Improvement : Promote coordinated Service Line initiatives by linking, coordinating, and prioritizing separate business unit initiatives to meet overall Service Line, Health Services Division (HSD), and Integrated Delivery and Financing System (IDFS) objectives. Enhance financial reporting and presentation to ensure accurate and timely information is available to appropriate management levels.

Technical Collaboration : Work closely with technical teams to deliver solutions supporting the implementation of Service Line and payer-provider initiatives.

Support and Evaluation : Assist the Chief Financial Officer of Western PA Hospitals, Service Line and Hospital VPs and other UPMC physician and operational leaders in various initiatives. Evaluate the performance and effectiveness of finance functions within the service lien and business unit.

Process Design and Implementation : Design and implement processes and structures that enable effective service line management. Extract and analyze data from various operating systems to evaluate opportunities for improving bottom-line profitability. Provide technical assistance to senior management and clinical business units in preparing annual budgets.

Financial Modeling : Coordinate the implementation of financial models to align incentives in support of Service Line and payer-provider initiatives.

Enterprise-wide Financial View : Develop an enterprise-wide financial perspective of new care models, including the measurement and assessment of revenue, cost, and financial risk. Design and implement standards to evaluate, structure, measure, and assess progress of existing integrated initiatives and create processes for evaluating new initiatives.

Industry Trends and Strategy : Stay current with industry trends and maintain a working knowledge of significant developments. Provide financial input toward the development and assessment of Service Line and IDFS strategy, including goals and objectives, reimbursement/incentive mechanisms, contracting strategies, and market segment considerations.

Bachelor's degree in finance or related business field required.

Minimum of six years of related work experience required.

Three years of experience with financial analysis required.

Minimum of one year managerial or supervisory experience required.

A Master's degree or CPA license and five years of experience will also be considered.

Experience with a large, complex, multi-billion dollar Integrated Delivery and Finance System required.

CPA/MBA or equivalent advance degree preferred.
