Serving as a part of the larger Applebee's Operations team, this leader will primarily support the Learning and Development function for restaurants in our company markets, with a subset of responsibilities that support L&D initiatives across the broader franchise portfolio.

Responsibilities:
Champions all levels of Applebee's Onboarding, training, and ongoing development curriculum and ensure that Team Members and Manager are both compliant and growing in their roles.
Conducts in-restaurant training & leads regional workshops in partnership with the Operations team.
Establish requirements for Certified Training Restaurant Status; Semi-annual assessments of Certified Training Restaurants to validate continued excellence.
Partner with field HR and Operations leaders on Manager In Training (MIT) selection, onboarding, and training of new MITs. Provides feedback to lead operator on MIT progress and performance.
Conducts or follows up on all required certification training for the market or the brand.
Maintains a roster of certified trainers in restaurants and supports bi-monthly meeting agendas with training teams.
Supports the internal Learning Management System (LMS) including content creation and module review

Provides updates on training completion, compliance reporting, and checking for understanding with key audiences during restaurant visits.

Facilitate train-the-trainer events for food and beverage rollouts or brand initiatives.
Serves as the primary communicator between the restaurant support center and field operations.
Integrate key brand initiatives into the NRO process, including testing new policies or procedures.
Follow company policies, uphold professional standards, and perform all work in a manner respectful of others.

Target base salary $100k-115k depending on experience

Skills & Requirements:
3-5 years of restaurant and/or hospitality industry Operations and Training experience preferred.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook.)
Ability to effectively communicate with both written and spoken words (emails, video calls, newsletters, conversations, and public speaking.)
Full understanding of all phases of training development process and adult learning principles.
Ability to effectively multi-task, managing multiple projects at different points in their life cycles.
Comfortable and confident in having tough conversations.
Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with business leaders at all levels.
Analytical skills and attention to detail.
A keen sense of urgency that is self-driven.
A general understanding of restaurant profitability and P&L management.
Able to maintain the declining balances of a budget or cost center.
Proficient in planning and organizing - forward thinking to establish an efficient and appropriate course of action in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to be flexible with change and help manage change.

Preferred Requirements
3-5 years of above restaurant leadership experience in an Operations or Training capacity.

3-5 years of content creation experience in the eLearning discipline, including adult learning principles, the ADDIE model, and proficiency in audio/visual/ module technology and authoring tools.
