Northrop Grumman Mission Systems Sector is seeking a leader to manage a team of high performing diverse individuals with cross functional skills in Baltimore, MD. The individual will be responsible for managing a team that designs and certifies factory test equipment to test prime mission equipment for airborne electronic systems applications. This position requires a blend of Hardware and Software skills with a hands-on approach to troubleshooting complex electronic systems. In this role, the candidate will interface with various other engineers, technicians, systems administrators, program managers, security team, and vendors to provide support for various system bench tasks as required. Position focuses on the full design cycle from conception through design to fabrication and integration/test. Position may require some travel.

Roles and responsibilities (80% Technical, 20% Functional Mgmt.)- Technical
- Support design to cost, scope, and schedule activities
- Requirements definition review
- Develop acceptance criteria & certification procedures
- Root cause determination, problem resolution and documentation
- Provide proposal inputs and review proposal content for both internal and external customers
- Functional Management
- People leadership for an engineering design organization
- Performance management, career development, staffing, and merit planning
- Support department initiatives, recruiting, technology roadmap creation, cross-campus/sector involvement, and NCTA project leadership
Basic Qualifications- Minimum 7 years of related engineering experience with Bachelor's degree or minimum 5 years of related experience with a Master's
- Basic understanding of RF, Digital or Power electronics
- Basic understanding of the Design, Manufacturing and Test process
- Basic understanding of a functional management role
- Demonstrated leadership including team building and navigation, technical and inter-personal problem resolution, and mentoring
- Able to work well within a team environment and adapt quickly to change
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret (or higher) clearance
Preferred Qualifications- Master's degree in engineering, Business Management, Engineering Leadership, or equivalent
- Previous functional management experience
- Experience as Integrated Product Team (IPT) Lead, or other demonstrated leadership role to a program office
- Experience in test automation design and test equipment
- Clear understanding of Earned Value and SPI/CPI in determining the critical path of a project, EAC and experience preparing workload forecasts
- Special Access Program Clearance
This position is contingent upon obtaining and maintaining the required level of US Security Clearance
Salary Range: $145,000 - $217,400
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
