Designation : Manager - EHS

Location : Bangalore

Role : Full time

Experience : 7-10 Yrs. of experience, preferably in Pharma Industry

Industry : Pharmaceutical Company

Education Qualification : Bachelor's/ Master's Degree in Engineering, Health, Industrial Management, Science, Environmental Science or related field.

Certifications Required : OSHA, EHS, CPR, CSP, ASP, CIH, HAZWOPER, Fire Department Certification may be preferred.

Position will be reporting to : Senior VP - Logistics


Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and oversee safety and environmental programs to ensure a safe workplace environment.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and audits, investigate accidents, and develop corrective actions to identify and prevent potential hazards/ incidents while ensuring compliance with local, state, and central EHS regulations and company policies.
  • Perform risk assessments for new processes, equipment, and materials and implement measures to mitigate identified risks.
  • Conduct training for employees on safety procedures and emergency response.
  • Manage activities related to permits and program development for environmental regulations.
  • Maintain up to date EHS documentation (including safety data sheets, permits, compliance records) and regulatory filings.
  • Maintain records of incidents, safety training, and ensure continuous improvement in safety practices.
  • Renew AMC's and maintain the documents related to the same.
  • Develop and deliver OSHA written management processes and recordkeeping requirements.
  • Develop and maintain emergency response plans and procedures.
  • Conduct regular emergency drills and training sessions.
  • Stay updated on industry best practices and regulatory changes.
  • Communicate EHS performance and issues to the Management and employees.
  • Prepare and present EHS performance reports and metrics.
  • Ensure that vendors and contractors comply with EHS standards and policies.
  • Develop and implement health and wellness programs for employees.
  • Promote initiatives that support mental and physical well-being.
  • Prepare SOPs related to EHS in line with the company's requirements.
  • Monitor compliance with safety standards and enforce safety regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with insurance policies related to employee safety, workplace hazards, and environmental liabilities.
  • Coordinate with insurance providers for claims management and risk assessments.

Skills Required:

  • Knowledge of EHS regulations and best practices as per local government bodies.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and EHS management software.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in evaluating work procedures and processes to align with industry standards and best practices.
  • This job requires extensive travel.
