This involves: As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will be joining our Tech department. Our Tech department is the driving force behind the technology in our organization. Powered by our innovative strategies, our Tech teams ensure we're fully aligned to develop, maintain, and improve our technology platforms and applications. We are responsible for ensuring the efficient management of payroll platform for over 400,000 associates, making sure that our HR functions is delivering pay slips promptly and accurately. Our team excels in prioritizing tasks and addressing critical issues swiftly, ensuring the seamless functioning of our vital services.

Key responsibilities of your role Your role is highly diverse and encompasses various responsibilities. Here are the key ones:
Professional Management: - Support the Head of Tech with technical implementation and management of solutions/apps within a product.
- Design business technology solutions for subsystems, required interfaces, and integration.
- Define and coordinate technical tasks for applications and interfaces.
- Involve partners in management where necessary.
Leadership and Team Management: - Lead and mentor a team of DevOps Engineers focused on SAP ECP, providing guidance on technical challenges and career development.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance environment, ensuring that the team is motivated, continuously improving, and aligned with business goals.
Monitoring: - Monitor work status, identify improvements, and propose quality enhancements.
- Ensure adequate operational performance of the product
Strategic Planning and Execution: - Develop and execute the strategy for SAP ECP system support and development, aligning with business priorities and technology roadmaps.
- Collaborate with senior leadership, HR, and business teams to understand the evolving needs of the organization, ensuring that the SAP ECP environment meets current and future requirements.
- Plan, allocate, and prioritize resources for ongoing SAP ECP projects, ensuring the team is prepared to meet deadlines and service level agreements (SLAs).
Development: - Support backlog item estimation and sprint planning.
- Develop working technology functionality in agile teams and deliver it sprint-wise.
Agile Process: - Resolve delivery impediments and manage team scrum processes.
- Assist the Head of Tech in preparing product backlogs for sprints.
Platform Management: - Act as Platform Engineer, responsible for a technical development platform and its tools.
- Ensure application integration on the specific platform.
Testing: - Coordinate testing of new business technology functionality, including performance and security tests.
- Set standards and explore possibilities for automated testing.
Deployment: - Deploy technology functionality developed by the agile team in a controlled manner.
- Investigate and introduce CI/CD possibilities within the domain.
Operational Management: - Monitor and support daily business applications, ensuring continuity of technology services.
- Perform troubleshooting and follow-up activities for incidents and problems.
Change Requests: - Initiate or validate change requests and perform technical impact analyses.
- Assess proposals from suppliers and advise on implementation efforts.
Cross-functional Collaboration: - Work closely with tech Basis, functional teams, and external vendors to ensure smooth system integration and continuous operation of the SAP ECP environment.
- Act as a liaison between IT and HR departments, ensuring alignment of business objectives with technical capabilities in the SAP ECP system.
- Manage relationships with third-party vendors to ensure their contributions meet the organization's technical standards and requirements.
Reporting and Documentation: - Establish with Service Delivery manager a framework for reporting and tracking the performance of the SAP ECP system, including uptime, issue resolution times, and compliance with SLAs.
- Ensure all documentation related to the SAP ECP system, ABAP developments, and third-party integrations is accurate, up-to-date, and accessible for future reference.
- Regularly report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to senior leadership, highlighting areas for improvement and progress made towards strategic goals.

Requirements We think you'll be best geared for success if you meet the following requirements:
- 5-7 years of experience in DevOps, with 3-5 years of experience managing a technical team in an enterprise environment, ideally with SAP ECP or similar enterprise systems.
- Strong experience in ABAP development, CI/CD processes, cloud platforms, and automation tools.
- Demonstrated experience in managing vendor relationships and overseeing third-party integrations.
- Proven expertise in system performance optimization, incident management, and security in large-scale enterprise systems.
- Functional knowledge of US payroll or NL payroll systems is a plus
- Experience with payroll-related compliance and security considerations is a plus.
- Leadership skills to inspire and manage a diverse technical team, drive team performance, and align team efforts with business objectives.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners.
