Overview
The Manager, Commercial Learning & Development will be a key member of the Commercial Effectiveness organization, primarily responsible for the successful development, delivery and management of comprehensive product, and skills training used by commercial teams at Insmed to help colleagues meet business objectives. The incumbent will collaborate across multiple cross-functional teams, including Sales, Market Access, Patient Services, HR and Marketing to understand training needs and translate into actionable and enriching associate learning curricula. This individual is the primary facilitator to lead training classes and pull-through learning programs for sales specialists This position may be remote, but with travel required to Bridgewater, NJ for business needs
Responsibilities
- Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with training colleagues, Sales, Operations, Marketing leadership, and subject matter experts to implement results-focused, performance-based, standardized training and development
- Develop and implement comprehensive sales training curricula for use during training classes, meetings and workshops
- Lead and facilitate all new hire training classes, working with cross-functional teams to manage logistics, learners and content
- Coordinate and align across cross-functional leadership to ensure all training materials meet the goals and objectives of both Sales and Marketing
- Ensure training resources (e.g. materials, workshops, infographics/job aids, etc.) meet all regulatory, legal and compliance requirements for assigned individual projects and initiatives, and update as needed
- Deploy and drive franchise and product-specific training to the commercial teams inclusive of selling skills, clinical disease state knowledge, competitor and market landscapes
- Work with and/or manage agency partners, consultants and internal personnel to ensure the successful design and execution of assigned training programs and projects.
- Work with Director and Sr. Director to assess and analyze the effectiveness of current training programs
- Support the L&D team with ad hoc training requests in preparation of launch and post launch
- Identify and use innovative technologies to facilitate adult learning and pull-through of both live and virtual training capabilities
- Qualifications:
- 5+ years of Pharmaceutical industry experience with a minimum of 2 years in pharmaceutical customer facing experience required
- Rare disease / specialty / respiratory experience preferred
- Product launch experience preferred
- Experience leading new hire and skills training workshops required
- Bachelor's degree required
- Proven record of success through teamwork and execution
- Effective facilitation and presentation skills
- Proven high performance with a track record of meeting or exceeding goals.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple projects
- Understanding of budgets and management of agencies/vendors
- Demonstrated ability to implement key learning objectives, strategies, and tactics
- Problem solving and solutions-oriented team player
- Excellent communication (verbal and written)
- Experience operating within a highly complex cross-matrix environment; ability to connect and collaborate with key cross-functional team members including Marketing, HR, Sales Operations, Commercial Sales, Medical, Legal, Regulatory, & Compliance
- High learning agility and ability to effectively prioritize
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Power Point, Excel and Word and other applications
- Ability to travel for multiple meeting engagements
