Job Title:Manager 1, Administrative AssistanceDepartment:Engineering Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering
The MAE Administrative Manager provides high level administrative and strategic support to the Chair of the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (MAE); manages special projects and events as assigned by the Chair; Provides direct supervision to 4 administrative assistant roles within the department supporting multiple functions; implements overall administrative procedures and processes for the department; provides administrative assistance with Faculty Affairs processes including Promotion and Tenure (P&T) and coordinating faculty searches; provides support to the Chair for annual faculty review process; develops draft reports and correspondence; effectively and professionally communicates with College and University leaders and represents the department through interactions with alumni; serves as a point of contact for internal and external stakeholders; coordinates external advisory board meetings for Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering; collaborates with Finance Manager on key initiatives; maintains an in-depth knowledge of priorities and activities in department and College of Engineering; uses substantial judgment and independent decision making authority when acting on behalf of the Chair; advises the Chair on issues related to their position; assists in the general administration of MAE by keeping the Chair informed of important events, activities, and potential issues in and related to MAE; in coordination with the Finance Manager, assists in developing and implementing administrative procedures for the department; work as a liaison between faculty and chair; provides leadership on committees as necessary; manages and prioritizes Chair's calendar, activities, and travel; other duties as assigned.
Required: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. 3 years of relevant experience required. Prior experience in a supervisory role.
Desired: 4-8 years of relevant experience preferred.
The target hiring range for this job profile is $69,400.00 - $91,250.00. The actual salary paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limit to, education, years of experience, internal equity, etc.
