The Sherwin-Williams Management and Sales Training Program is an exciting, accelerated entry-level opportunity designed to shape your future as a Store Manager in just 18-24 months. With a strong promote-from-within philosophy, you'll have the chance to step into an Assistant Store Manager role after successfully completing an intensive 8-week training period.

Typical work hours for this position are 44 hours per week, which may include evenings and weekends.

Throughout the program, you'll partner with store management to manage a million-dollar business, gaining valuable insights into the strategy and operations of our stores. You'll play a crucial role in enhancing our market share by engaging with large commercial clients, including painting contractors, purchasing agents, and manufacturers, helping them find the high-quality products they need.

This role requires interaction with customers, including minors, and may involve handling cash, personal information, and store merchandise, thus necessitating a review of criminal history to ensure safety and security for our staff and customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Complete training within the established program framework.
  • Support business strategies to enhance sales and maximize profitability.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to ensure high levels of satisfaction.
  • Develop comprehensive knowledge of our products for effective customer recommendations.
  • Build and maintain relationships with retail and wholesale customers.
  • Manage store administrative tasks.
  • Ensure compliance with policies regarding safety, loss prevention, and security.
  • Maintain outstanding store appearance and visual merchandising standards.
  • Assist in employee training and development while managing performance issues.
  • Address and resolve customer and employee complaints effectively.
  • Collaborate with the Store Manager to conduct outside sales calls for market expansion.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring sponsorship.
  • Must possess a valid, unrestricted driver's license.
  • Must hold at least a bachelor's degree by the start of the program.
  • Must be capable of frequently lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs., and up to 70 lbs. on occasion, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • At least one year of experience in retail, sales, or customer service.
  • At least one year of leadership experience in supervising teams.
  • Experience in a team-oriented environment, whether through work, extracurricular activities, or military service.
  • Previous experience selling paint and related products.
  • Familiarity with timekeeping and/or customer relationship management (CRM) systems.
  • Willingness to relocate for future opportunities.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in multiple languages, including Spanish.
