Maintenance Technician


Job Description

The maintenance technician is responsible for performing daily equipment maintenance and providing equipment and facilities support, while providing technical support to the manufacturing engineering and production groups to identify and solve equipment problems.


Essential Functions

  • Ensure daily 6S of workstation and equipment
  • Ensure minimal equipment downtime
  • Ensure OSHA and safety compliance
  • Ensure quality and workmanship, inspecting work performed during and/or after operation.
  • Perform and determine if the equipment is running well, understanding why the process may be outside of the control limits
  • Identify and replace/repair worn and/or broken parts
  • Determine if equipment performance has improved or deteriorated, based on established Key Performance Index Andon documentation understand why the process may be outside of the control limits
  • Perform equipment hardware installation (i.e. air, power, vacuum, exhaust, nitrogen etc.)
  • Perform equipment installation / removal / relocation (i.e. crating/uncrating, leveling equipment, setup, etc.)
  • Perform equipment preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and reactive maintenance
  • Manage spare parts inventory receipt, recorded use, adjustments, stock and periodic cycle counting
  • Work with various gauges, tools, fixtures, devices, etc. when required by established standards and quality requirements
  • Prior experience working with 480V.

  • Knowledge in operation and maintenance of PCB'S assembly equipment
  • Ability to understand a process and the specific relationship(s) between its outputs and inputs, and its performance and capability
  • Possess a very strong sense of urgency

  • Familiar with technical equipment used to manufacture PCB electronics, such as SMT placement, reflow oven, screen printers, wave-solder etc.

Required Education and Experience

  • High School / GED (minimum)
  • Technical Degree -2 Year (preferred)
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a factory or production line environment, preferably an SMT production environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Basic computer skills, some use in MS Office Products
  • Ability to use multi-meters and some functionality capabilities with troubleshooting equipment, performing advanced troubleshooting, and ability to troubleshoot and identify basic to intermediate issues relating to mechanical parts.
  • Experience working on conveyance systems, and automated production equipment.
  • Intermediate knowledge and good understanding of low voltage DC power up to 480V. Experience working with up to 480-3 phase. Understand the difference between single and 3-phase configurations, and ability to read and interpret electronic schematics.
  • Experience working on conveyance systems, and automated production equipment.
  • Experience utilizing PLC's to troubleshoot IO issues.
  • Experience using DMM's.
  • Knowledge of how to interpret mechanical assembly drawings.
  • Previous experience with and working knowledge of mechanical parts such as pumps, motors, valves, etc. used in various manufacturing floor equipment and ability to identify basic to intermediate issues or problems relating to various mechanical parts.
