Summary:
This position supports the entire maintenance organization by training and assisting in the troubleshooting and repair of mechanical, electrical, and PLC/automation issues across manufacturing and facilities equipment. It involves taking ownership of projects from initiation to completion, both independently and in collaboration with teams. The role also focuses on developing engineering solutions to prevent recurring equipment and process issues, while driving continuous improvement initiatives throughout the facility.
Your primary activities will include but are not limited to:
- Perform corrective and preventive maintenance on a wide range of systems, including architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, process, and utility equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair facilities and equipment involving mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems using manuals, SOPs, and specifications.
- Assist with root cause investigations and recommend improvements to enhance system reliability and maintenance procedures.
- Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities, repairs, and materials used, adhering to good documentation practices.
- Support compliance activities including deviations, CAPAs, change controls, and SOP updates.
- Apply predictive maintenance technologies (e.g., vibration analysis, thermography, ultrasonics) to monitor and maintain equipment health.
- Participate in equipment installations, including factory and site acceptance testing; may lead contractors and internal teams during work execution.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives using Lean tools such as 5S, Standardized Work, Visual Management, and Kaizen projects.
- Ensure proper operation and calibration of support systems like air compressors, dust collectors, and dehumidifiers; inspect building safety equipment.
- Promote a safe and clean work environment by using appropriate PPE, following safety policies, and supporting cGMP compliance.
You'll need the following (minimum qualifications):
- Utilize LEAN tools such as Standardized Work, 5S, Visual Management as well as leading Kaizen projects and documenting results to support continuous improvement projects
- Identify and establish machine spares for equipment as needed
- Continuously work to improve the level of housekeeping and implement 5S throughout the facility
- Perform any other duties as specified by the Maintenance & CI Manager
- High School diploma or equivalent, preferably including hands-on or vocational school training, and a minimum of ten (10) years of experience as a general maintenance mechanic in a manufacturing environment, or an equivalent combination of training and experience, or A.S./A.A. Degree in Mechanical/Utilities Technology, or Licensed Journeyman, with a minimum of five (5) years of work experience.
- Must be willing to work altered shift schedules/overtime as needed to support the business
- Daily and Weekend Overtime may be required to complete duties of the position
- Leading mechanics and contractors during work in the plant
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
A reasonable estimate of the current base hourly range for this position is $26.00 to $40.00. Actual compensation offered may vary depending on skill level, experience, and/or education.
