Sugar Hollow Retreat in Butler, TN is looking for a Maintenance Manager and 1-2 Maintenance Technicians to join our team. We are located on 5793 U.S. 321. Our ideal candidate is self-driven, motivated, and reliable.


Responsibilities

  • Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of facilities and perform scheduled maintenance repairs
  • Perform simple machinist duties and responsibilities
  • Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting, and repairs to facilities
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service
  • Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and adjust as needed
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance on property, equipment, and facilities
  • Perform a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in performing duties
  • Detect faulty operations and defective material, and report those and any unusual situations to facilities manager
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas
  • Complete all maintenance work orders in MaintainX
  • Pressure wash and stain decks and wooden patio furniture - yearly or as needed
  • Remove all bees nest and cobwebs before each guest arrival
  • Drag and smooth roads between HWY 321 and Overlook Deck before and after each wedding/guest if needed
  • Change air filters in return air units every 6 months
  • Pressure wash concrete patios at the lodge and OMH after each wedding or as needed
  • Help set up/tear down before and after events and clean up
  • Set up ceremony chairs and tables for wedding
  • Maintain steps to river dock, keep kayak shed cleaned out
  • Keep leaves and debris blown off porches, decks, amphitheater steps and Hemlock steps especially before each guest arrival
  • Keep road ditches and culverts clean and clear of debris
  • Keep all gutters clean
  • Spray weeds in all parking lots monthly spring to fall
  • Keep bugs out of light fixtures inside and outside
  • Keep all roads and driveways maintained as needed year round
  • Cut back tree limbs on roads and maintain trails as needed
  • Gather trash during and after each guest or wedding and dispose in dumpsters
  • Paint, stain and seal as needed
  • Repair anything that breaks if qualified
  • Change light bulbs and batteries in smoke detectors as needed
  • Help to move heavy objects as needed
  • Clean charcoal grills and fireplaces/firepits after each guest
  • Keep all blown light bulbs changed
  • Keep all batteries in smoke and carbon monoxide detectors changed
  • Keep firewood cut and replenished at the Lodge, Sitton House, Hemlock house and the OMH
  • Keep trash, big rocks and trees out of roadways
  • Cut and dispose of any fallen trees in roads or fields
  • Keep barn and maintenance shed and any storage area tidy
  • Keep dock adjuster per water levels
  • Keep water filter at the lodge, laundry center, Sitton House Hemlock, Restaurant changed twice per year or as needed
  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High school diploma/GED and completion of a craft apprenticeship, or an equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experience
  • Associate's degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance a plus
  • Four or more years of manufacturing experience; mechanical and industrial skills preferred
  • Must be highly motivated and able to work independently
