JOB SUMMARY:

The Zone Technician II is responsible for performing repairs and preventive maintenance across the Grady Health System. Utilizing basic mechanical, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and masonry skills, the Zone Technician II ensures that all facilities are safe, functional, and well-maintained. This role is crucial in supporting the day-to-day operations of the healthcare system by maintaining a reliable and safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors.

Day-to-Day Duties:
  • Conduct routine inspections of facilities and equipment to identify and address maintenance needs.
  • Perform repairs on mechanical, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and masonry systems.
  • Implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend the lifespan of equipment.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Technical or vocational school coursework of at least 18 credit hours in relevant building maintenance skills
  • 3-5 years of practical experience in building maintenance or a related field
  • Proficiency in using hand and power tools required for repairs and maintenance
  • Strong understanding of safety protocols and regulations
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
