Position Summary: Under general direction of the Facilities Supervisor, the technician is responsible for building maintenance to include the primary fields of basic electrical, heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC); carpentry; plumbing, landscaping, mowing, painting, and completing work orders.
Major Responsibilities:
1. Identifies and corrects building and equipment problems by performing carpentry, electrical, plumbing, painting, and HVAC work to maintain buildings and equipment in safe condition, prevent degradation of property and systems, and prevent failures that would cause reduction in service using hand, power and specialty tools.
2. Repairs, modifies, constructs, fabricates, installs and maintains building structures and equipment, (e.g. roofs, floors, walls, ceilings, foundations, generators, HVAC equipment, compressors, etc.) to provide safe conditions for employees.
3. Replaces or updates inoperable or old building materials and appliances (e.g. motors, belts, pumps, window glass, sinks, doors, smoke alarms, cabinets, shelves, tile, light fixtures, filter systems, patios etc.) to provide a safe, comfortable working environment for employees using various tools and materials
4. Inspects facilities; equipment; systems (e.g. electrical, plumbing, power sources, etc.); and work of vendors to determine condition of facilities, safe operation of equipment, quality and safety of work, and scheduled maintenance.
5. Responsible for the mowing of lawns and the general upkeep of the grounds. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
Other Responsibilities:
1. Ensure the provision of quality services to clients through participation in the agency's CQI process.
2. Display competence & responsiveness to cultural differences present in both customer & employee population.
3. Maintain cleanliness of gutters.
4. Maintain and service all equipment.
5. Other duties as assigned.

Position reports to: Facilities Supervisor
Requirements
Qualifications:
Knowledge: Basic knowledge of all levels of building maintenance.
Experience: Three years of experience are highly preferred. Possession of a valid NC driver license is required.
Skills/physical/working conditions: Must possess a valid driver's license and be insurable by Eliada's insurance carriers. Must be able to sit, walk, and stand for up to 8 hours indoor and outdoor with varying weather conditions. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
