We are growing and looking for a skilled Maintenance Technician II to join our West Jordan production team. As a Maintenance Technician II, you will perform mechanical, electrical, and basic PLC troubleshooting on a variety of manufacturing and packaging equipment. You'll help ensure uptime, quality, and safety in a fast-paced food production environment. This position requires a "whatever it takes" attitude and the ability to work independently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (PMs) on production equipment, packaging lines, ovens, and mixers.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and basic automation issues.
- Troubleshoot PLCs (input/output checks, fault clearing, minor program adjustments).
- Work with sensors, VFDs, motors, gearboxes, conveyors, and other plant systems.
- Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns to minimize downtime.
- Document maintenance activities accurately in maintenance management systems.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment according to GMP and food safety standards.
- Support installation of new equipment and assist with equipment upgrades.
- Collaborate with production and sanitation teams to improve equipment reliability.
- Assist with root cause analysis for recurring problems and suggest improvements.
Requirements:
- 2+ years experience in industrial maintenance in a manufacturing environment (food manufacturing a plus).
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills - conveyors, motors, gearboxes, pneumatic systems.
- Basic electrical troubleshooting experience - 24VDC, 120/480VAC, 3-phase systems.
- PLC troubleshooting experience - Allen-Bradley or Siemens preferred (basic program adjustments are a bonus).
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work on your feet for long shifts.
- Bilingual Spanish/English is highly preferred.
Work Hours:
- Monday-Friday, 6:00 AM to 3 pm (overtime as needed).
