Kongsberg Defense & Aerospace Inc. is seeking to fill the role of Maintenance Technician to work in our Johnstown, PA location. The Maintenance Technician will work both independently and with other facility personnel assisting with preventative and routine maintenance tasks on equipment and devices within the facility to support the company and specific programs as needed. This may include assisting with issues throughout KDA Inc. facilities, assisting company electrician, assisting in building warehouse fixtures, repairing failures and ensuring maximum equipment efficiency and effectiveness. Works proactively with facilities staff, including janitors to proactively address maintenance issues.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF JOB:

  • Assemble office furniture, chairs, workstations, and computer fixtures.
  • Support office moves, office set-up, hanging of office supplies, or decorations.
  • Assist company electrician for select jobs,
  • Assist with monitoring area temperatures and humidity, security systems and fire prevention systems.
  • Replace light bulbs.
  • Maintain awareness and physical inspection of KDA Inc. sites. Raise concerns of facility defects to management
  • Work closely with Facility Manager, using work order systems to prioritize tasks.
  • Participate on project teams, as appropriate.
  • Work with Facilities Team as well as the janitorial lead in solving problems and completing work orders.
  • Attend & successfully complete in-house training for forklifts, man-lifts, cranes, and powered and non-powered pallet jacks.
  • Maintain record keeping electronically.
  • Suggest cost effective alternatives to projects.
  • Knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics preferred.
  • Occasional 10-15% domestic travel to assist with IT installations and office upgrades at other KDA Inc. sites.
  • Required to lift a max of 50 lbs. occasionally. Use of pallet jacks & dollies to assist with heavier loads as needed.

EDUCATION & PRIOR EXPERIENCE:
  • High school Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of prior experience performing facility maintenance, public works, or general maintenance
  • Certificates or apprenticeships in electrical, plumbing, construction, or carpentry is a plus.

ANY ADDITIONAL, PERIODIC OR OCCASIONAL DUTIES:
  • Close CMMS PM work orders.
  • Travel to local stores to retrieve supplies or goods for the facility.
